01 INTRODUCTION
Induction motor is one of the most important motors used in industrial applications. The operating condition may sometime lead the machine into different fault situations.
BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM: The main theme behind this project/Research to overcome the problem of the faults occurs in the three phase motor and monitor them. The three phase motor is used in almost all the industries, the motor can be easily damaged due to the single phasing, short circuit, Heating of winding and many other common faults like over voltages and under voltages. The proposed idea helps us for the protection and mointoring of three phase motor. 7
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: The one of the main Problem we are facing now a days are the failures of the industrial three phase motors due to the common faults like single phasing, over voltages etc. Since the current drawn by the motor is more, heat dissipation in the stator and rotor is increased drastically when the percentage balanced over voltage exceeds 25%.
3 2 A im of study/objectives: 1 TO PROTECT THE THREE PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR. TO INCREASE THE LIFE OF INDUCTION MOTOR. TO MINIMIZE THE FAILURES OF INDUCTION MOTOR.
IMPORTANCE OF IOT BASED PROTECTION IS: it allows industries to take control of their power consumption habits and manage their power. A method for monitoring power use that is efficient and effective in industrial structure. SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY:
LITERATURE REVIEW:
INTRODUCTION: The main types of external faults experienced by these motors are overloading, single phasing, unbalanced supply voltage. To make induction motor run efficiently and to protect it from various faults, sensing circuits have been designed.
These sensing circuit sense the faults occur in an induction Motor. These faults are monitored by the protection system and if any fault occurs the motor automatically turned off. Hence this prototype model of microcontroller based protection system is very simple in design, reliable, highly versatile, and cost effective and gives quick response. INTRODUCTION:
STATE OF ART(RELATIVE WORK SECTION): : The protection of the three phase motor is the very emerging research now a day but in the past many engineers contribute towards the protection of the motor. The literature review of the research is described in below the failure survey report of IEEE in 1985 have reported that percentage failure by components in induction motors is typically: i ) Stator related : 38% ii) Rotor related : 10% iii) Bearing related : 40% iv) Others : 12%
