EXAMPLES AND IMPACT
•??????Economic
•Good impact:More job opportunities through Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies and remittances from OFWs that keep the economy strong.
•Bad impact:Local farmers and small businesses struggle to compete with cheaper imported products, leading to loss of income.
•??????Political
•Good impact:The Philippines benefits from international support in times of crisis (e.g., aid from UN and other countries during typhoonsand disasters).
•Bad impact:Dependence on foreign aid and influence sometimes weakens our own government’s independence in decision -making.
•??????Cultural
•Good impact:Filipinos enjoy global trends like K-pop, Netflix, and international brands, which widen entertainment and lifestyle choices.
•Bad impact:Some Filipino traditions and local products are being overshadowed by Western and Korean culture, causing a decline in appreciation of our own heritage.
•??????Ecological
•Good impact:Greater awareness of climate change pushes the Philippines to join global movements for environmental protection.
•Bad impact:Industrialization and global trade contribute to worsening pollution, deforestation, and stronger typhoons due to climate change.
•??????Sociological
•Good impact:Migration and global education programs give Filipinos opportunities to study and work abroad, bringing new skills back home.
•Bad impact:Family separation due to OFWs working abroad causes emotional struggles for children and parents left behind.

Globalization greatly influences the everyday lives of Filipinos, and its effects can be seen in how we shop, work, and communicate.
Economically, apps like Shopee, Shein, and Temumake products affordable and accessible, while courier services such as J&Tdeliver
goods quickly across the country. Digital wallets like GCashmake payments and OFW remittances faster and easier. These are positive
impacts that bring convenience and opportunity. On the negative side, small local businesses struggle to compete with cheaper
imported products, and overspending online has become common among many Filipinos.
In the political and cultural dimensions, globalization opens doors to new ideas and wider connections. Social media platforms like
Facebookand TikTokprovide a space for free communication, online education, and sharing of opinions, but they also spread fake
news, cyberbullying, and sometimes harmful content. Filipino traditions and ethics are being influenced by foreign trends, from fashion to
entertainment, which enriches our cultural exposure but can also weaken appreciation for our own heritage. Even Jollibee, while a
proud Filipino brand, has had to adjust to global competition by expanding internationally and embracing global business strategies.
From a sociological and ecological perspective, globalization has both benefits and challenges. OFWscontinue to provide economic
strength through remittances, but family separation leaves an emotional gap. Free online courses and global communication help
Filipinos gain knowledge and skills, yet heavy reliance on the internet creates problems of misinformation and addiction. Thegrowth of
online shopping and deliveries makes life easier, but it also adds to packaging waste and pollution.
Conclusion:
Globalization has become an everyday reality in the Philippines, shaping the way Filipinos work, study, shop, and communicate. It
creates opportunities for growth through technology, remittances, business, and education, but it also brings challenges suchascultural
erosion, economic dependence, and environmental concerns.
Closing Statement:
As a Filipino, I realize that globalization is not something to fear but something to manage wisely. By embracing its positive impacts while
addressing its negative consequences, we can ensure that globalization will not only serve our generation but also build a better future
for the next.
