ConstituentAssemblywhichunanimouslyadoptedtheNationalFlag.

2.2Amember
ofpublic,aprivateorganizationoraneducational
·nstitutionmayhoist/displaytheNationalFlagonalldaysand
occasions,ceremonialorotherwise.Consistentwiththe dignity
andhonour
oftheNationalFlag-
(i)whenevertheNationalFlagisdisplayed,itshouldoccupy
theposition
ofhonourandshouldbedistinctlyplaced;
(ii)
adamagedordishevelledFlagshouldnotbedisplayed;
(iii)theFlagshould
notbeflownfromasinglemasthead
simultaneouslywithanyotherflagorflags;
(iv)theFlagshouldnotbeflownonanyvehicleexcept
in
accordancewiththeprovisionscontained inSectionIX of
PartIIIofthisCode;
(v)whentheFlagisdisplayedonaspeaker'splatform,
itshould
beflownonthespeaker'srightashefacestheaudienceor
flatagainstthewall,above
andbehindthespeaker;
(vi)whentheFlagisdisplayedflatandhorizontalonawall,the
saffronbandshouldbeuppermostandwhendisplayed
vertically,thesaffronbandshallbeontherightwithreference
totheFlag(i.e.lefttothepersonfacingtheFlag);,
(vii)totheextentpossible,theFlagshouldconformtothe
specificationsprescribedinPartI
ofthisCode.

nootherflagorbuntingshouldbeplacedhigherthanor
aboveorsidebysidewiththeNationalFlag;norshouldany
objectincludingflowersorgarlandsoremblembeplaced
onorabovetheFlag-mastfromwhichtheFlagisflown;
(ix)theFlagshould
notbeusedasafestoon,rosette or
buntingorinanyothermannerfordecoration;
(x)theFlagmade
ofpapermaybe wavedbypublicon
occasionsofimportantnational,culturalandsports

events.However,suchpaperFlagsshouldnotbe
discardedorthrownonthegroundaftertheevent. Asfar
aspossible,itshouldbe
disposedofinprivateconsistent
withthedignity
oftheFlag;
(xi)wheretheFlagisdisplayedinopen,itshould,asfaras
possible,beflownfromsunrisetosunset,irrespective
of
weatherconditions;
(xii)theFlagshouldnotbedisplayed
orfastenedinanymanner
asmaydamageit;and
(xiii)whentheFlagisinadamagedorsoiledcondition,itshall
bedestroyedasawholeinprivate,preferablybyburningor
byanyothermethodconsistentwiththedignity
oftheFlag.

2.3TheNationalFlagmaybehoistedineducational
institutions(schools,colleges;sportscamps,scoutcamps,etc.)
toinspirerespectfortheFlag.Amodelset
ofinstructionsfor
guidall~e isgivenbelow-
(i)TheSchoolwillassembleinopensquareformation with
pupilsformingthethreesidesandtheFlag-staffat the
centreofthefourthside.TheHeadmaster,thepupil·leader
andthe
personunfurlingtheFlag(if
otherthanthe
Headmaster)willstandthreepacesbehindtheFlag-staff.
(ii)Thepupilswillfallaccordingtoclassesandinsquads
of
ten(orothernumberaccordingtostrength).Thesesquads
willbearrangedonebehindtheother.Thepupilleader
oftheclasswillstandto therightofthefirstrow ofhis
classandtheformmasterwillstandthreepacesbehind
thelastrow
ofhisclass,towardsthemiddle.Theclasses
willbearrangedalongthesquareintheorder
ofseniority
withtheseniormostclassattherightend.
(iii)
Thedistancebetweeneachrowshouldbeatleastone
pace(30inches);
andthespacebetweenFormand Form
shouldbethesame.
(iv)
WheneachFormorClassisready,theClassleader
will
step forwardandsalutetheselectedschoolpupilleader.
AssoonasalltheFormsareready,theschoolpupilleader
willstepuptotheHeadmasterandsalutehim.The
Headmasterwillreturnthesalute.Then,theFlagwill be
unfurled.TheSchoolpupilleadermayassist.
(v)
TheSchoolpupilleaderirichargeoftheparade(or
assembly)willcalltheparadetoattention, justbefore
theunfurling,and
hewillcallthemtothesalutewhenthe
Flagfliesout.
Theparadewillkeepatthesalutefora
briefinterval,andthenonthecommand"order",the
paradewill cometotheattentionposition.
(vi)
TheFlagSalutationwillbefollowedbythe National
Anthem.Theparadewillbekeptattheattentionduring
thispart
ofthefunction
(vii)
Onalloccasionswhenthepledgeistaken,thepledge
willfollowtheNationalAnthem.Whentakingthepledge
theAssemblywillstandtoattentionandthe
Headmaster
willadministerthepledgeceremoniouslyandthe
Assemblywillrepeatitafterhim.
(viii)InpledgingallegiancetotheNationalFlag,thepractice
tobeadoptedinSchoolsisasfollows:-

Flagpassesthem.Adignitarymaytakethesalutewithout
aheaddress.
