SPORES - a small, usually one-celled reproductive structure produced by seedless plants, algae, fungi, and some protozoans that is capable of developing into a new individual.
CLASSIFICATION OF NON FLOWERING PLANTS 1. MOSSES- These plants consist of small, slender stalks and leaves; vascular tissue is not present.
FERNS Ferns are found throughout the world. Most grow in damp, shady places, although certain species grow on dry ground, soil, or rocks.
gymnosperms - a woody vascular plant in which the ovules are carried naked on the scales of a cone.
conifers -common name for a group of plants that is characterized by seed-bearing cones and that includes about 550 of the 700 known species of gymnosperms, plants with seeds that are not enclosed in an ovary.
FLOWERING PLANTS -also called an angiosperm (Latin angi -, “enclosed”; Greek sperma , “seed”), common name for the division or phylum comprising flowering plants, the dominant form of plant life.
