Observations on Flyback Converter
•Single switch operation – simple & less conduction loss
•High ripple current at the input and output
•Higher blocking voltage of the switch due to reflected voltage
•Energy in the leakage inductance dissipated in the RCD
snubber
•No need for an output filter inductance
•More suitable for higher output voltages & lower output
currents
