Synopsis:- INTRODUCTION DEFINITION FODDER CROPS IMPORTANT OF FODDER CROPS CONCLUSION REFERENCE

INTRODUCTION Fodder crops are crop that are primarily cultivated for animal feed. They include both temporary and permanent crops. Temporary crop include grasses legumes and root crops that are harvested green and can have multiple cutting year permanent crops relate to lond used for at teast five years for herbaceous forage crops and my include grazing lond and pdots or forest lond example of temporary fodder crops discussed are cowpea desmanthus , fodder,maize and fodder sorghum permanent grass fodder crops mentioned are hybrid napier Guinea grass .

Definition:- Fodder crops are crops specifically grown to provide food for livestock . These crops are cultivated primarily to be used as animal feed . Either in fresh from or preserved for later use common fodder crops include alfalfa clover maize and various grass . They are a key component of agricultural systems that rely on livestock forming ensuring animals have a reliable source of nutrients.

Fodder crops:- Fodder crops are crop that are cultivated primarily for animal feed. By extension natural grasslands and pastures are included whether they are cultivated or not.

Grass fodder:- Grown in tropical sub-tropics and warm temperatures regions during kharif,rabi , and summer season it is an annual crop. It is grown for feeding in green form for hay making or for emailing in mixtures with sorghum.

Fodder Rice:- The byroducat of harvesting rice, which can be used as fodder for animal. It is usually chapped and mixed with other feed source to improve its nutritional value.

Fodder wheat Wheat fodder crops are used primarily for animal feed and can be grown alongside or after a wheat crop some common type include. Wheat straw - the residue left after harvesting wheat grain. It is aften used as bedding or roughage for livestock. Wheat silage – made by fermenting chopped wheat plants including the leaves and stems . this can provide high quality feed. Wheat forage - the green part of the wheat plant including leaves and stems can be harvesting before the grain mature and used as feed.

Fodder maize Maize is mostly grown us kharif crops sowing in June –July in south india it makes best growth in rabi and also in summer It can be grown through out the year with irrigation facility.

Importance of fodder crops Any agricultural products used expressly to feed domesticated livestock, such as cattle, rabbits, sheep, horses and pings is known as fodder.

Conclusion Fodder crops are essential for sustainable livestock production providing nutritious feed that supports animal health and productivity they contribute to soil fertility reduce dependency on commercial ecosystem effective management of fodder crops ensures a steady supply of high quality forage improves resources use efficiency and support the over all sustainability of forming system.
