Relationships Between
Fractions, Decimals, and
Percentages By Stargirl
Introduction
Hi! This presentation is about fractions,
decimals and percentages
You will learn about:
The relationship between common
fractions, decimals and percentages and
How to convert them
Enjoy!
The relationship
between fractions,
decimals and
percentages is they
can all equal to the
same thing
Now, on to
converting......
The Relationship
Between Them
Fractions and Decimals
To convert fractions into decimals, you
have to do this: numerator of the fraction
÷ denominator of the fraction
Converting to decimals is harder, so I’m
going to give you an example: 0.5. 0.
something means /10, so it is 5/10.
Then, simplify it. 0.0something means /
100, and so on......
Fractions and
Percentages
To convert fractions to percentages, you
have to change it into a decimal first, then
change it to a percentage. So if the
fraction is 5/10, then change it to 0.5,
then to 50%. Why 0.5 to 50%? Because it’s
5/10, so change the denominator to 100
and change the whole fraction (since %
means /100).
Percentages to fractions is similar. You
have to change the percentage into a
decimal, then back to a fraction.
Decimals and
Percentages
To convert decimals into percentages,
multiply the decimal by 100.
To convert percentages into decimals,
divide the percentage by 100 and take the
percentage sign away.
