Charles Of Valois And The Invasion Of Florence
On 1st of November 1301, Charles of Valois invaded Florence, with the official purpose to bring
peace between the two internal political factions but, in contrast, he reached the political power on the
city, on which he ruled and enacted hard laws. In addition, on 9th of November 1301 the French
Prince appointed Conte Gabrielli da Gubbio (member of the Black Guelphs) as supreme magistracy of
Florence, allowing this latter to recall in Florence the exiled Donati family, who had been previously
banned from the city as guilty of conspiracy against the White faction (June 1301). The above episode
is mentioned in Dante s Comedy as the prophecy by Ciacco : He then: After long striving they will

Philosophy Statement And Accountability In The Classroom
Regarding discipline, I believe that many teachers choose a one size fits all approach when handling
the behaviors of their students. However, just as each student learns differently, I believe each student
reacts differently when disciplined within the classroom. What may work with one student may not
necessarily work with another, and each teacher has to be aware of that when entering this profession.
However, regardless of how a student may react to discipline, accountability for their actions is
absolutely crucial. I believe that accountability is one of the most important aspects of discipline you
can instill in a child. In many households, disciplining children is dealt with negatively, aggressively,
or simply not at all, and many students don t believe that they should be held accountable for what
they choose to do. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One method I have implemented has been the Stoplight System. With the stoplight system, I would
have a large laminated stoplight attached to the front blackboard. Each child within the classroom
would have a clothespin with their name on it, and every morning the students would begin with their
clothespin on green. When they have done something not in accordance to classroom or school rules,
they would get a verbal warning and move their clothespin to yellow. If they again choose not to
follow the rules, their clothespin would be moved to red. At the beginning of each month, students
would be given a blank calendar. At the end of each day, the students would be expected to take out
their calendar, find the date, and color the square the color they remained on for that day. This
calendar will go home each night with the student, where their parent must initial the date to show that
they have seen their

Economic Systems And Economic System
An economic system governs how a society s resources are allocated between people, and so the
question of its morality is immensely important (Winfield, et al, 2014). This essay will analyse the
different economic systems by considering the two economic systems that fall on the extreme ends of
the spectrum of economic systems, these being capitalism and socialism. It will further discuss the
characteristics of each of these economic systems and based on these, argue that the mixed economy is
the best alternative economic system. The forms of regulations that create efficiencies and those that
create inefficiencies will be argued for and the importance and benefits of these regulations will be
analysed. .
A capitalist economic system is one that is predominantly characterised by free markets, private
ownership and limited government intervention. Free markets are commonly known for their ability to
achieve economic efficiency primarily through the volunteer nature of exchange and the existence of
competition amongst producers (Winfield, et al, 2014). Adam Smith believed that the goal of every
economic system should be to achieve economic efficiency through the mechanisms of productive and
allocative efficiency. Productive efficiency can be defined as producing goods and services for the
lowest cost while allocative efficiency is more concerned with the distribution and allocation of
resources in the economy to where they are valued most and can attain maximum satisfaction for

Jeanette Winterson s Story Of A Mother Story
In Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal, Jeanette Winterson reflects on why she had to
become a writer. Winterson s, alternative to not writing her life story would be losing herself in the
narrow mesh of her adoptive mother s story (698): Winterson experiences a power struggle between
her adoptive mother s narrative and her needs to preserve her personal story. Winterson s mother story
is one of severe unhappiness and resentment, or an unlived life as Winterson describes it (695).
Through her adoption, Winterson was thrust into a dysfunctional family and suffered extensive abuse
at the hands of her angry mother. Winterson alludes the strength she has been forced to gain in order to
survive. In a chaotic and abusive household, she was forced to become a bare knuckle fighter to
endure the pandemonium (696). As Winterson says about her family dynamic, the one who wins is the
one who hits the hardest (696). Winterson s life experiences portray a struggle to exist as she suggests,
she has been fighting alone her whole life without anything to help her or back her up. Often being
forced to fend for herself, thus revealing her need to preserve her story and prevent it from drowning
in the tragic narrative of her mother. While Winterson s descriptive literary devices paint a picture of
the pain and suffering she endured as an adopted child, the reader may struggle while interpreting the
true source of her childhood pain. When reading, two potential causes for

Rural Trash and Recycling Throughout History Essay
Recycling and Trash in Rural Areas
Recycling and trash is not a problem that has newly been raised in society. Trash, recycling and its
removal has been in history for centuries. As long as humans in society consume, there will be the
remainder of something that humans see as trash. Society holds a different perspective on trash and
recycling that varies from society, culture, tradition and way of life. A matter of perspective of some
incidents review that one man s trash is another man s treasure and if one wastes not, they want not.
Rural trash pickup is limited in the state of Iowa for numerous reasons that will be discussed within
this project, as well as how rural individuals deal with no trash pickup. The heated argument of some

Burning waste in a burn barrel is legal in some circumstances, but open dumping and burning
accumulated piles is not. It is never permissible to place a burn pile or trash barrel within the county
right of way. Recycling is also more difficult because pick up is not available in all rural areas, Prior to
purchase of the property of 8 acres, the event of trash was placed in a perspective that it was possible
for a trash route. However, the county line of Clinton County is indeed where the trash pick up ends.
That line is less than ¼ mile away from our residence. The city of address is Lowden, Iowa. Their
landfill is full and has taken the option to send their waste to another landfill. There is no rural service
for Cedar County in our section of the county. The actions of waste management are solely the
responsibility of the property owner and there is a limited amount of space to store trash.
In the event of problem solving the trash, it has been a solution to store that which could not be burned
into trash bins each sorted to the type. Those items consist of tin cans, glass, batteries, light bulbs,
milk jugs, and margarine bowls. It is understandable that milk jugs and margarine bowls would indeed
burn, but the hardened plastic once it is melted still is a solid waste that must be dealt with in the end
in the ashes. Not only, but the toxics that are released into the air when those items burn is and has
been questioned.

Laser Therapy Case Study
The fetoscopic laser therapy [17] is currently recognized as the first line treatment for stage I to IV
TTTS diagnosed before 26 weeks of gestation, resulting in better survival and neurological outcomes
of fetuses. However, because laser therapy has to coagulate the placental anastomotic vessels between
the two fetuses in TTTS, the decreased placental perfusion to the donor twin with FGR may cause a
higher fetal demise rate than in the TTTS donor without FGR [18]. Furthermore, the procedure of
laser therapy is not free of complications. In our series, 11.4% of treated cases experienced premature
rupture of membranes (PROMs) within 3 weeks, and 2.2% of treated cases developed
chorioamnionitis needing termination [11]. So in the TTTS twins ... Show more content on

MtDNA increases have been associated with hypoxia in the placentas of FGR [8]. Our results further
suggest that the rescue perfusion from the AGA to sFGR fetuses determines the placental hypoxic
status in the sFGR twins between these two groups. One potential etiology of sFGR in MC twins is its
low placental share [12]. Our results (Figure 2) of similar placental discordance in the TTTS with
sFGR (group 1) and the no TTTS twins with sFGR (group 3) provided evidence against the hypothesis
that the different degrees of low placental share in the sFGR twins led to different placental mtDNA
contents between these two groups. We have previously reported that the fetal / placenta weight (F/P)
ratio is increased in MC twins with sFGR [19] when rescue perfusion from the larger placental
territory to the sFGR one through vascular anastomoses works to promote growth of the sFGR twin.
By this compensatory mechanism, the sFGR twin in each pair of shunt patent twins (group 3) gets
more perfusion than its small placental territory would usually supply, resulting in the alleviation of
hypoxic stressors and a decrease of mtDNA content in the sFGR placental territory. On the other hand,
laser therapy disrupts the vascular shunt between the TTTS twins and terminates the aforementioned
rescue perfusion, resulting in hypoxia and,

A Survey of the Information Need and Information Seeking...
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1. Background to the study
Information is generally useful in many areas and has to do with becoming informed and reducing a
users level of ignorance and uncertainty. According to Burk and Horton (1988), information can be
considered as an external entity with an objective nature, or that which informs or has the potential to
inform; or a combination of content or meaning represented by symbols and media or conduit, used or
usable in a particular context... In a highly structured and complex world, the need for information is
felt at all levels of the society regardless of an individual s location, social condition or intellectual
achievement. Belkin (1978) says information is that which is ... Show more content on

The role of information in secondary schools education is enormous, some of which are:
To give the students a solid education background
To promote intellectual development of students
To support class projects
It assists students to express their thoughts, feelings and need.
It helps in solving problems
It assists in decision making.
The information obtained must have meaning so that it can be used in a dynamic process of being
informed (Kuhlthau).
This research work will therefore enable stakeholders in education, i.e. parents, teachers, government
etc., to identify the types of information need by students and also broaden the information search
scope of secondary school students. It is also hoped that the finding from this study will serve as
catalyst to the government in providing good ICT facilities. Such as a well equipped library,
laboratory equipment and information centers that will boost the teaching and learning processes. It is
believed that the outcome of this study will facilitate the creation of a dynamic school curriculum, that
will help students and teachers acquire adequate and current information. This will in turn help them
to be self dependent and enable them in solving life s problem.

1.3 Research Objectives
The broad objective of this study is to examine the information need, information seeking behaviour
and uses of information by secondary school

Effective Internal Communication
Professor Joseph Neptune
February 22, 2015
Abstract
Proper communication with any company is imperative to its daily operations and employee morale.
Communication is defined as purposeful activity of exchanging information and meaning using
various techniques or natural means. Large companies can lose sight of this as they grow and grow
outside of their center of operations. When any company acquires additional business and begins to
run it in a different culture it is important to know how that culture or environment thinks, acts, and
responds before setting up shop. If this is properly done then this ... Show more content on

The break down in the communication process has cost the company money and the challenge of
constant rework. The lack of communication is frustrating for lower level employees as it seems to
reach them last; yet impact them the greatest. They are on the front line with the customers (doctors
and hospitals) and have to deal and try to correct the problems before they reach higher up
management. There are too many, capricious methods of communications that do not provide the
employees with a simplified, efficient process to perform their duties. The company s INTRANET site
was developed to serve as a tool to distribute announcements, associate programs, events and
celebrations. However, within that tool are various Standard Operating Procedures that representatives
are to use for their daily tasks. There is a separate tool that houses the Operating Procedures for each
line of business that the representative answers incoming calls for; Online Help, this is the
representative s go to resource for any issue to be resolved or any updates to the call center policies
and procedures. Of course, like any company there is the electronic mail communications (email) that
is used for several pieces of information that needs to be addressed or communicated out to different
areas of the company. This method is the most misused tool in the company than any other system.
The company sends a daily email out on the latest update on what is new on the INTRANET site, we

The Prisoner of War Ethic
Early on in the semester, I have found that Chapter 12 has been one of the more intriguing sections to
read. After deciding on a topic for the paper, I combed the book for interesting topics that could relate
to the prisoner of war ethic. In many ways I started my journey with Chapter 12; making it all the
more fitting that I end here as well.
Chapter 12 and the section on Prima Facie Duties cover a good range of personal subjects. This
chapter espouses the ideal that communication is not confined to national or even international
borders. Kales Human Nature, for example, proposes the importance of the human spirit over cultural
boundaries. Though it is not easy, we must communicate with others in a way that does not reflect
back on our own biases and stereotypes in other forms of intercultural communication. And I am
personally fascinated by the concept of moral exclusion. The ability to which we are able to extend
rights to other people is reflective of where they lie in our sphere of moral consideration, I believe.
One of the eight stages of genocide dehumanization comes to mind. As the book notes, this
dehumanization is reflected in communication. Communication, such as propaganda, that lowers the
status of others exemplifies this dehumanization.
We have a tremendous capacity, to turn people into less than us, and once you do that, you can justify
a hell of a lot of awfulness. Greg Pirmann
I recall reading a book recently by Roderick Frazier Nash called The

The Dollar Diplomacy And The Spanish American War
Many things came out of the expansion era such as the Big Stick Policy, the Dollar Diplomacy, and
the Spanish American war. Roosevelt said Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far. which
meant that if diplomacy failed, the U.S. would not hesitate to use military force to protect its interests.
The Dollar Diplomacy, which Taft favored, was based on the idea that economic ties were the best
way to expand American influence. The Spanish American War started on April 21, 1898, the United
States declared war against Spain following the sinking of the Battleship Maine in the Havana harbor
on February 15, 1898. The U.S. also supported the ongoing struggle of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the
Philippines for independence against Spanish rule.

Radio And Record Labels Essay
Radio and record labels have both come a long way since when they were first invented. Radio s came
from being a great source of entertainment among those who were able to afford it. It was a staple
within the household. Sometimes the entire family would gather around the radio at a particular time
and listen to the boxing match live. Record labels still work under the same concepts as they do today,
rather you like them or not, they have created artist and disputed many of the favorite hits that we
listen to today. Unfortunately, both are facing its own decline. Radio isn t as structured as it used to be.
Record companies are constantly battling the same forces that made them successful. Both industries
face major crisis if they are not willing to reinvent their platforms to a more stable format. So many
people have had their hand in the invention of the radio. So much that its development became
hampered by legal battles over patent rights to the various inventions. This all changed during WW1,
and the U.S Navy assumed responsibility for all relevant patents. This is why radio made a great
advancement during and after the first Word War. Before, radio was considered a blast of new
technology. Even though back then the radio only had a few channels available, and most stations had
terrible receivers. Today s radio receivers a far better, considering that the first ones were overlarge
and had problems with leaky batteries. In 1972, radios began to make some of their

Cultural And Social Lens Identity
Through a cultural and social lens identity has to do with a person s appearance, beliefs, and language.
People with cultural differences have different identities. Appearance wise, they tend to have a
different skin color, a different dress code, different facial features, different hair, etc. These
characteristics can easily help others categorize what cultural group they are in. People with different
cultural backgrounds sometimes dress a certain way so you can easily see their identity through their
clothes. The beliefs of a certain culture is also a part of their identity being that it is something they
believe within themselves. Many cultures have different religious systems such as Christianity, Islam,
and Buddhism. They either chose

Noel Carroll Satire
What fuels the desire of wanting to go watch a horror film? As a society, naturally, we do not want to
be afraid of the supernatural or even live in a haunted house (perhaps some people do, on the rare
occasion) but why would we want to go watch something that makes it difficult for us to sleep at
night? What drives us out of our way to be scared, indulged in the gory, disfigured monsters?
Normally, we would avoid a scenario to be attacked by a monster or as Carroll pinpointed, attempt to
add some pleasure to a boring afternoon by opening the lid of a steamy trash can in order to savor its
unwholesome stew of broken bits of meat... unrecognizable clumps, riven thoroughly by all manner of
crawling things. (Carroll 2) Analyzing and contrasting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The old tendency to dismiss the Hollywood cinema as escapist always defined escape merely
negatively as escape from, but escape logically must also be escape to. (Wood 30) A dream does not
necessarily have to be good or bad, but it is an escape from reality, no matter what form it s presented
in. Reality can seem dull and audiences who choose to go watch a horror movie tend to watch it for
controlling the idea of the repressed, things that cannot be controlled by the conscious mind. The idea
can be represented from outside or inside of the community and then annihilated, further emphasizing
the idea of otherness . The 1920 film can be depicting Europe in the 1920s with the great depression,
economy failure and unemployment soared, Orlok could be a figure of the despair in reality,
something that humanity was trying to beat/ get rid of. The definition of normality in horror films is in
general boringly constant... The Monster is... changing from period to period as society s basic fears
clothe themselves in fashionable or immediately accessible garments rather as dreams use material

Psalm 78 Is The Psalm Of Remembrance
Psalm 78 is the psalm of remembrance. In the beginning, the psalmist commands the attention of the
present age to what we have heard and known. We should not conceal them from our children, but it is
our responsibility to tell the generations to come to praise the Lord about his strength and wondrous
works he has done. This is such a good reminder for me! Sometimes we are influenced by the value of
this world and we pay too much attentions to teach the children the knowledge of the languages,
sciences or arts, but we forget the more important thing is to help our children put their confidence in
God and fear the Lord since they are still young. In the Psalm 78:9 39, the psalmist remembers many

The History of Bosnia
The history of Bosnia was full of violence, anger and war. Bosnia was once the epicenter of former
Yugoslavia. The state of Bosnia dates back to the Second Century and was quite different from current
Bosnia. Second Century Bosnia consisted of Latin speaking settlers from Roman Empire and they
were also Christians. (History of Bosnia and Herzegovina). The first ruler of Bosnia, in the high
middle ages, was Ban Boric. The second ruler was Ban Kulin and he ruled in the late 1100 s. Ban
Kulin was a well respected leader who ruled for three decades by keeping the peace and stability
within the state. He was able to strengthen the economy by signing treaties with Venice and
Dubrovnik. (History of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
After Kulin s ruling, Bosnia was taken over by Ottoman. Although Ottoman took Bosnia over, they
preserved the Bosnian identity within the culture. Ottoman ruled from 1463 1878. At this time, the
population was deeply affected because of frequent wars with European powers and there were high
rates of migration. Also at this time Islam was the largest ethnic group due to the high rise of
conversions to Islam. Due to the rise of Islam conversion, the population rate of Catholicism went
down. In 1875, the Ottoman Empire fell because of the Herzegovinian Rebellion and the uprising of
peasants. Because of these events and the Treaty of Berlin, the Ottomans were forced to give control
over to Austria Hungary. (History of Bosnia and

Sweatshirt And T-Shirt Essay
For this experiment, our hypothesis was that if we used sweatshirt fabric, then it will cause the UV
bead to have the lightest color, opposed to having fabric from the middle part of a hat, and t shirt
fabric.
The control date remained the same throughout the experiment. Each indicator bead stayed at 5 on the
UV color guide. The experimental data varied. The beads that were under the sweatshirt and the t shirt
fabric had a 2 on the UV color guide, while the hat fabric had a 1. First, I said that the sweatshirt
fabric would make the bead have the lowest number on the UV color guide. I was wrong because the
sweatshirt fabric scored a 2. Next, my hypothesis said that the t shirt fabric would cause the bead to
have a darker color than the sweatshirt fabric. That was incorrect because the t shirt also scored a 2,
just like the sweatshirt. Furthermore, my hypothesis also stated that the hat would make the bead have
a darker color. That wasn t right because the hat made the bead have the lightest color, which was a 1

I think if the light is higher up (let s say 2 feet) it will mimic the amount of strength the light has on

Potato Famine In Ireland In The 1800 s
In the early 1800 s, Ireland was primarily rural. Most farmers worked on rented land from wealthy
landlords. All of the corn and crops that they raise go to the landlords which are later exported to
England. Potatoes are the main food of the impoverished Irish farmers who grew potatoes and other
grains. The potato originated in South America but wasn t brought to Ireland until later in the 16
century. Potatoes were so loved that they replaced barley and oats that poor people previously ate.
This was really devastating because barley and oats were among the few things that poor people could
afford. Poor people might have been able to get at least three potatoes every week. By the mid 1800 s,
a fungus infected the potato crop. Plants became black

Integrative Approaches To Psychology And Christianity...
Entwistle (2015) discusses the philosophical, historical, and practical approach to integrating
psychology and Christianity in his book, Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity. The
author proposes that psychology and Christianity are ultimately creations of a Sovereign God designed
to give complementary enlightenment to mankind for worshiping God and to care for the suffering.
Integration is defined as ...a multi faceted attempt to discern the underlying truths about the nature and
functioning of human beings from the unique vantage points of psychology (in its various
subdisciplines, utilizing diverse methodologies) and Christianity (in theology, faith, and practice) (pp.
260 261, italics in original). Psychology discerns truth through empirical means through the scientific
process of hypothesizing and testing. The author describes it as a study of the book of God s Works .
As a discipline, it focuses on methological naturalism, which canonizes only what may be empirically
tested. Theology is the discernment of truth through the interpretation of God s Word, and of reason.
As a discipline, it focuses on the supernatural and morality, how man ought to live, not simply how
man does live.
Psychology as a science, emerged in Europe during the nineteenth century from modernism
philosophy, in a world where science and religious establishment had a history of conflict. Entwistle
notes that the ...rise of science represented a shift in how the world was understood

The way of that emergency has uncovered essential vulnerabilities inside states and far and wide.
Those vulnerabilities were taken into account a blend of obligation and influence, intra budgetary
increase and securitization, neurotic basic advancements in individual economies, and unsustainable
asymmetries in worldwide capital gathering, making lopsided characteristics in exchange, venture and
utilization elements (Morgan, 2008, 2009; Wade, 2008). For example, involving dynamic reappraisals
the emergency was moderate smoldering , conveyed by a progression of basic occasions. The
outcome, on the other hand, continued an expository movement towards a negative result which is
monetary deleveraging/ adjustment/ stoppage/downturn. There are two key reasons why the logical
line of impediments was taken after. The principal key reason is that the framework knows the
behavioral impacts of how awful or more regrettable the framework would be influenced.
Additionally, both of the reason are connected with one another from multiple points of view. The
second key explanation behind an explanatory line of impediments in view of the scale and scope of
developing emergency was devalued. This devaluation conceived the useless framework from which

UMI Personal Statement
UMI has it all: spirit, action, academics, athletics and social lives. That is what makes UMichigan so
grrrreat (Think Tony the Tiger, speaking of Michigan)!
For a native New Yorker, UMI represents the best of the big Rah! Rah! Sis Boom Bah! schools where
sports are king, and everyone is the epitome of a study hard, well fed Midwesterner, Rock of Gibraltar
ethics, corn pone loving, weekend rabble rouser. A Chinese friend of mine claims he went directly
from a St. Paul s graduation in New Hampshire to Ann Arbor to acclimate himself in preparation for
his greatest year on earth. Personally, I think he just wanted to experience Michigan s lake life for that
summer and see if he could establish a solid social circle before every one of ... Show more content on

Although I do not know what the future holds, I am steadfast in planning on it being at UMI. Amongst
hundreds of reasons UMI is appealing, its involvement in fostering intellectual and cultural growth in
recognition of the importance of globality (not a word, but it should be) makes it my first choice
college. As a member of the proud first generation Americans crowd, I know the value of diversity,
especially in education.
I am constantly envisioning improvements, multiple uses, and/or innovations regardless of the subject
at hand; as such I want to have meaningful experiences that will help me identify a productive way for
me to spend my life. Targeting classes that develop a depth of finance, business, and social sciences
knowledge, I plan to be a ready candidate to join an international team to make a difference in the
world. After spending the next four years with a diverse group of global companions, I know we will
strengthen our critical thinking and communication skills, broadening our understanding of the
mathematics and the humanities in our efforts to recognize opportunities, envision imaginative
improvements, multiple uses, and innovations as we strive to economically, environmentally and

L. M. Rosenblatt
Summary and analysis of theory and research Over the last eight years, I have been a reading/literature
teacher in a middle school composed of 6th through 8th grade. I find that my teaching style has
evolved since finishing my undergraduate work due in part to the following theorists. A theoretical
model by definition is an abstraction, or a generalized pattern devised in order to think about a subject
(Rosenblatt, 1938). This was L. M. Rosenblatt s premise on literacy models, and one which I feel
reflects my thought and feelings while writing this paper. Pioneers The theorist listed in this category
could also be listed under the contemporaries. While she began her work many years ago, her work
has continued to the present. She had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reader may decide on an efferent attention, which has the reader learning from the text. This is
common core classes such as science and history. The second stance is aesthetic and that has the
reader living or feeling the story. Reading a novel for pleasure would fall under this stance. In her
model, writing takes the same stance. If a student reads a poem, they may write another poem
aesthetic or they may write an analysis to describe their meaning of the piece. Rosenblatt contends that
we are always in a state of transaction. We are always changing and growing. Our socioculture
changes to fit the needs of the school environment as needed. We also bring our community and
family culture into the classroom to add to the already growing and changing atmosphere. This can
affect the entire class dynamics relating to the text. Contemporaries James Paul Gee believes that a
piece of language is to be treated as a representation of some information. Clearly state, language is
not some abstract notion that represents a verbal language, but people s experience they encounter in
their lives. Gee has a description similar to schema theory but never uses the terminology. He feels
that we videotape an experience, re edit as new experiences are learned, and then pull from the library
of tapes as needed to help us understand given

Causes of Global Warming
Many businesses, industrial factories, and vehicles produce massive amounts of natural gases that
affect the world in many ways. These gas particles that move rapidly and constantly collide with the
atmosphere. This causes the air on Earth to contain higher kinetic energy due to the fact that more gas
particles from the natural gases are colliding with the air particles. The higher kinetic energy results in
higher temperature and heating of Earth s surface. The heating of the Earth s surface causes many of
the world problems that we have today. As more and more factories and industries produce gases that
pollute the world, they also increase the effects of global warming. Gas particles from these natural
gases move rapidly throughout the atmosphere. Since these gases are still near the surface of the
Earth, these gas particles collide much more and become more rapid creating more kinetic energy. If
there is more kinetic energy in these gas particles, there is an increase in temperature. Around the
world there are so many products and resources that require the release of gases. These gases, once
released, increase the temperature in the atmosphere to be able to melt the ice at the north and south
poles. The gas particles are able to spread out throughout the Earth s atmosphere to trap the heat which
increases the temperature of the Earth s surface allowing the ice to melt.
Hurricanes, storms, and droughts are caused by numerous factors. Droughts are caused by the

Examples Of Irony In Open The Window
In the two short stories, Like the Sun and Open the Window there is irony and paradox hidden within
them both . Paradox is when a statement or phrase cancels out another sentence . For example , I ate
no pizza , but I had a piece . Irony is when you say something that references something else . For
example , a person doesn t know that there is a scary clown outside, but the audience or reader does .
The first paradox is in the story Like the Sun . The main paradox in this story is you are suppose to tell
people the truth, but if you do it can cause many conflicts, than if you just say nothing and nod . In the
story, Sekhar was asked if he heard about the death of a character, if it was a pity . The other man
replied and said how nice

Theories of Classical Management
The classical approach were established and carried out in the early 1900centyry. Group of technician,
manager and scientist came up with idea in order to reduce industrial dispute. They are Frederick
Taylor the theory of scientific management, Max Weber theory of bureaucracy, and Henri Fayol
theory of classical management. Most of them theories were based on the principal for a
comprehensive theory of management. Now I am going to discuss about perspective view of each
theories. Frederick Taylor came up with the principal theory of scientific management. His theory put
emphasis on how an organisation can increase or gain their productivity through strong management
control and supervision on worker and planning and maintain structure of organisation. He believe in
so called Division of labour worker can do best and process can be run smoothly if worker assigned to
a limited number of specific task. He argued best result will out come if the employee appointed for a
specific task and monitor them closely. Taylor found out that lack of employee initiative in the work
place was the major issue of inefficient work in the organisation. He believes that the organisation
emphasis more on external job rather than focusing on internal process of the production line, giving
less priority to the external process created negative impact on organisation such as waste of time,
human effort and materials. The reasons behind that were at that time most of the organization used to

Mildred Babe Didrikson Zaharias was born with the birth name of Mildred Ella Didrikson on June 26,
1911 in Port Arthur,Texas. She was the sixth of seven children in her family and her parents were Ole

As Babe once said, If you win through bad sportsmanship, that s no real victory. In my opinion I think
that she lived by this statement throughout her entire life which built up the strength and confidence
for her to win. In the early years of her life, Babe moved to Beaumont, Texas with her family in 1915,

Tenet Healthcare Case Study
In the early history, Tenet Healthcare originated from a company named American Medical
International (AMI), which was purchased by National Medical Enterprises (NME) in 1995. Between
the 1970s through 1985, NME grew its presence by focusing on acute care facilities and specialty
facilities, such as nursing homes, substance abuse facilities, rehabilitation services and psychiatric
hospitals. In fact, about 40% of NME s $587 million of operating profits were generated from
psychiatric hospitals. However, NME was sued for fraudulent overbilling in the early 1990 s.
Subsequently, NME pled guilty to the charges and had to sell all of its psychiatric facilities. NME
changed its name to Tenet after acquiring AMI and refocused to specialize on only acute care hospital
operations. Hence, Tenet grew from 70 hospitals in 1995 to 144 hospitals in Southern ... Show more
