MAHTAMA GANDHI Mohanda Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as ‘Mahatma Gandhi’, was one of the greatest freedom fighters that the world has ever seen. It was a great honor of the country people e to have been the birthplace and workplace of Mahatma Gandhi. He was a self-sacrificing hero who rose to the occasion of freeing the country from the grasp of the British. He began several movements like the Quit India Movement as well as the Satyagraha movement. Date of birth : 2 October 1869 Date of died : 30 January 1948 Place of birth : Porbandar (GUJARAT)
SHUBHASE CHANDRA BOSE Subhas Chandra Bose, affectionately called as Netaji , was one of the most prominent leaders of Indian freedom struggle. Though Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru have garnered much of the credit for successful culmination of Indian freedom struggle, the contribution of Subash Chandra Bose is no less. He has been denied his rightful place in the annals of Indian history. He founded Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj ) to overthrow British Empire from India and came to acquire legendary status among Indian masses . SADAR Vallabhbhai PATEL Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a freedom fighter and the first Home Minister of independent India. He gave his important contribution to the freedom struggle. The people of the world used to call him ‘Iron Man of India’. He participated in the freedom movements after got inspired by Mahatma Gandhi . He was famous as the Sardar of Bardoli for carrying out a strong Satyagraha in the town of Bardoli . Later the word ' Sardar ' became associated with his name. Sardar Patel's contribution to the integration of India was extremely important. India will always remember him for his social welfare . Date of birth : 13 October 1875
JAWAHARLAL NEHRU Jawaharlal Nehru, also known as Pandit Nehru was an Indian political leader and a freedom fighter which made him an eminent person in Indian History. Pandit Nehru was the first Prime Minister of India after India attained her independence. He belonged from a very rich family and had never had any problems his entire childhood. He was very close to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and they both worked together to help India attain her freedom. The children liked Pandit Nehru, and he loved and adored them. The children used to call him Chacha Nehru, and on his birthday, we celebrate Children’s Day.
RANI LAXMI BAI Rani Lakshmi Bai was one of the leading warriors of the India’s first struggle for independence. A symbol of bravery, patriotism and honour , Rani Lakshmi Bai was born on 19 November 1828 at Poona. Her actual name was Manikarnika . Her father Moropant Tabme was a court advisor, and mother Bhagirathi was a scholarly woman. At a very early age she lost her mother. Her father raised her in an unconventional way and supported her to learn to ride elephants and horses and also to use weapons effectively. She grew up with Nana Sahib and Tatya Tope, who were active participants in the first revolt of independence.
