Artworks that depict something easily recognized by most people are called representational or objective arts. Artworks that have no resemblance to any real subject are called non-representational or non-objective arts.

Phonetic Arts – directed toward sounds and words as media of expression 4. Pure Arts – use only one medium of expression 5. Mixed Arts – take more than one medium of expression
