Verb Phrase as a Predicate of the sentence -it tells what the subject is doing.

WHERE IS THE VERB PHRASE? The little girl is helping the old lady to cross the road.

Verb Phrase as an Adverb and Adjectives -verb phrases with a single function can either act as an adverb or an adjective. The phrase would comprise of verb, modifiers, complements, or even objects.

Spot the verb phrase as adjective and adverb in the sentences below: 1. I accidentally slipped because of the wet floor. 2. Their group activity ends very nicely.

Directions: Form 3 groups and then identify the function of the verb phrase in the sentence by writing it on board. The first group to score 3 points will be the winner.
