Health Professionals A health professional is a qualified person who delivers proper health care in a systematic way professionally to any individual in need of health care services. A health care provider may refer to a health professional, or an organization that provides services of a health professional.

HEALTH PROFESSIONALS CARDIOLOGY- The study of the heart and of diseases that affect the heart. CARDIOLOGIST- noun

Pediatrician – a doctor who treats babies and children also known as pediatrist A specialist in pediatrics.

HEALTHCARE FACILITIES - Facilities are places of institutions that offer healthcare services.

Different Types of Healthcare Facilities

a. Hospital - It is an institution where people undergo medical diagnosis, care and treatment. Inpatient care – refers to care given to individuals who need to stay inside the hospital to receive proper treatment, monitoring and care. Outpatient care – refers to treatment that does not require an individual to stay inside the hospital.

Different kinds of hospitals: private- operated by individuals to gain profit. voluntary – does not require profit because it is owned by a community or an organization. government or public – is being run by the state and the treatment fees are subsidized –to help someone or something pay for the cost teaching hospital – includes a school for a medical students.

b. Walk-in surgery center - It is a facility that offers a surgery without the patient being admitted in the hospital

c. Health center The services in a health care center cater to a specific population with various health needs.

d. Extended health care facilities A facility that provides treatment, nursing care, and residential services to patients, often the elderly.

TWO CLASSIFICATIONS OF HOSPITALS:

Answer these: What is a legit health professional? How will you know if he or she is really a health professional? In cases you have encountered a health professional is fake, what are going to do? Is there an agency of the government could held help you? What do you call a person pretending to be a health professional?
