2. What is G20 G20 or Group of twenty is an intergovernmental forum comprising 20 countries and the European union (EU). It works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation and sustainable development. G20 was founded in 1999 in response to several world economic crises. Since 2008, it has convened at least once a year , with summits involving each members head of government or state, financial minister or foreign minister. EU is represented by European commission and European central bank. The G20 is composed of the world’s largest economies, including both industrialised and developed nations . It accounts for around 80% of gross world product (GWP) 75% of international trade, two –third of the global population and 60% of world land area.

3. Missions of G20 The Global solutions initiatives mission is to provide an intellectual backbone for th e T20 process and thereby for the G20, pursued in the spirit of global citizenship for the recoupling of economic, social, political and environmental prosperity. They publish variety of networks and events such as:- The council for global problem-solving(CGP) is comprised of recognized researchers and policy advisers from world class research institutions who provide policy proposal to the G20. National and regional meetings, exploring the interface between global problem-solving and local decision-making. International workshops and conferences comprising “deep dives” into particular policy areas. Dialogues with policy makers and business leaders, are based on policy briefs and disseminated through the G20 insights platform.

4. VISSION OF G20 To provide research based policy advice to help government tackle major global challenges of the G20 and beyond. To generate proposal for aligning business, civil societies and governments for global problem- solving to address human needs in thriving societies. To start a world-wide movement that aims to recouple economic, political and environmental prosperity with social prosperity.

6. AGENDA OF G20 The 17 th group of 20 (G20) heads of state and government summit will take place in October 2022 in B ali, Indonesia. Under the Indonesian presidency, the G20 in 2022 will focus on the theme, “Recover Together , Recover Stronger”. The leaders summit is the climax of the G20 process and the intense work carried out over the year through ministerial meetings, working groups and engagement group. Recognizing the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on every aspect of society and many countries lack of capacity to address the crisis, the Indonesian presidency will focus on three main pillars for its G20 presidency. Global health architecture Sustainable energy transition ;and Digital transformation. Through these pillars, Indonesia aims to continue leading on ensuring equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, promoting sustainable and inclusive economic development through participating of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSMEs), and digital economy.
