Generic Amoxil Capsules for treatment of Bacterial Infection

Generic Amoxil Capsules (Amoxicillin) are used to treat or prevent certain infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, gonorrhea and infections of the ears, nose, throat, urinary tract, and skin.It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Generic Amoxil Capsules (Amoxicillin) are used

The active ingredient present in
Generic Amoxil Capsules (Novamox
Tablets) is Amoxicillin Trihydrate.
Ciplox Tablets are available in
strengths of 250 mg and 500 mg .
Each capsule of Generic Amoxil 500
mg, contains 500 mg amoxicillin as
the trihydrate.

Infections of the Ear, Nose, and Throat:
Caused by Streptococcus spp. (alpha- and beta-
hemolytic strains only), S. pneumoniae,
Staphylococcus spp., or H. influenzae.
Indications
Generic Amoxil is indicated in the treatment
of infections due to susceptible (Only beta-
lactamase-negative) strains of the
designated microorganisms in the conditions
listed below:

Infections of the Cenitourinary Tract:
Caused by E. coli, P. mirabilis, or E. faecalis.
Infections of the Skin and Skin Structure:
Caused by Streptococcus spp. (alpha- and beta-
hemolytic strains only), Staphylococcus spp., or E.
coli.
Infections of the Lower Respiratory Tract:
Caused by Streptococcus spp. (alpha- and beta-
hemolytic strains only), S. pneumoniae,
Staphylococcus spp., or H. influenzae.
Gonorrhea, acute uncomplicated (Ano-Genital and
Urethral Infections):
Caused by N. gonorrhoeae (males and females).

H. Pylori Eradication to Reduce the Risk
of Duodenal Ulcer Recurrence:
Triple Therapy: Generic Amoxil
/Clarithromycin / Lansoprazole
Generic Amoxil (Novamox), in combination
with clarithromycin plus lansoprazole as triple
therapy, is indicated for the treatment of
patients with H. pylori infection and duodenal
ulcer disease to eradicate H. pylori.

Dual Therapy: Generic Amoxil /
Lansoprazole:
Generic Amoxil, in combination with
lansoprazole delayed release capsules as
dual therapy, is indicated for the treatment
of patients with H. pylori infection and
duodenal ulcer disease who are either
allergic or intolerant to clarithromycin or in
whom resistance to clarithromycin is known
or suspected.

Generic Amoxil (Novamox) is usually
taken every 12 hours (twice a day) or
every 8 hours (three times a day) with or
without food. To help you remember to
take amoxicillin, take it around the same
time every day. Take amoxicillin until your
prescription is finished, even if you feel
better. Stopping amoxicillin too soon may
cause bacteria to become resistant to
antibiotics.

Mild/moderate: 500 mg every 12 hours or
250 mg every 8 hours
Severe: 875 mg every 12 hours or 500 mg
every 8 hours
Lower Respiratory Tract Infections:
Mild/moderate or Severe:
875 mg every 12 hours or 500 mg every 8
hours

Contraindications
Generic Amoxil (Novamox Capsules) are
contraindicated in the following cases:
Hypersensitivity to Amoxicillin Trihydrate
or any inactive component of the
preparation.
Novamox is also contraindicated in patients
with a history of allergic reaction to any of
the penicillins.

Side Effects of Generic Amoxil Capsules
Common side effects of Novamox
Capsules (Generic Amoxil) include upset
stomach, vomiting and diarrhea.
Please inform your doctor immediately in
case you experience any of the following
serious side effects:
Severe skin rash, hives, seizures,
yellowing of the skin or eyes, unusual
bleeding or bruising, pale skin, excessive
tiredness or lack of energy

Warnings And Precautions
Serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity
(anaphylactic) reactions have been reported in
patients on penicillin therapy. These reactions are
more likely to occur in individuals with a history of
penicillin hypersensitivity and/or a history of
sensitivity to multiple allergens. Before stating
Generic Amoxil therapy, careful inquiry should be
made concerning previous hypersensitivity
reactions to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other
allergens.

Warnings And Precautions
If an allergic reaction occurs, Novamox
should be discontinued and appropriate
therapy instituted. Serious anaphylactic
reactions require immediate emergency
treatment with epinephrine, oxygen,
intravenous steroids. Airway management,
including intubation, should also be
administered as indicated.

Overdosage
In case of overdosage, discontinue Generic
Amoxil, treat symptomatically, and institute
supportive measures as required. If the
overdosage is very recent and there is no
contraindication, an attempt at emesis or
other means of removal of drug from the
stomach may be performed.
