2. GENRE Means the form of your text Examples: Newsletter - bold heading - presentation devices i.e. boxes, pictures, captions etc. Letter - address at top of paper - date - start with 'Dear...' - sign ' Yours...'

AUDIENCE Who will be reading your text ? adapt your text to be suitable for different audiences by: - Using the right vocabulary - using the right words and expressions - if writing a magazine article choose a suitable publication  Identifying GAPS Genre : what type of text should you be writing?

4. PURPOSE Signal your purpose by: - explaining why you are writing you letter in the opening sentence - explaining what your article is about in the intro paragraph - stating what your newsletter is aiming to do in a bold headline  Purpose of a text could be to : persuade explain describe inform

5. STYLE Style can be either INFORMAL or FORMAL  and the tone of the text could be for example;  chatty detailed  serious personal emotional .....

7. This shows that its informal as its a form of ‘expletive language’ because she’s putting her middle finger up to the audience. This is a form of swearing. From looking at the picture is immediately gives away the genre of the magazine. Which portrays ‘Rock ’. The way she is dressed is also informal as the title ‘Bad Girl For Life!’ fits with the image
