GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES
The geography of India comprises most of
the Indian subcontinent and is situated
on the Indian plate in the northerly
portion of Indo Australian plate. It is
bounded to the southwest by the Arabian
Sea to the southeast by the Bay of Bengal
and the Indian Ocean to the south. The
Ganges is the longest river in India and
forms the Indo –Gang tic plain.

The Ganges –Brahmaputra system occupies most of northern,
central and eastern India, while the Deccan plateau occupies
most of southern is than desert, which is the seventh largest in the
world .India is divided into 28states of India are Andhra
Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam ,Bihar,chattisgarh,Gujarat,Haryana,
Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Jharkand,
Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra Manipur,
Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim,
Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand, West Bengal.
