BACKGROUND: Ureterolithiasis , characterized by the presence of calculi in the ureter, represents a prevalent urological condition with significant global morbidity and economic burden. The prevalence of urolithiasis is 5%–19.1% in West Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, as well as some developed countries (South Korea and Japan), whereas, it is only 1%–8% in most part of East Asia and North Asia. In Pakistan, the prevalence of urolithiasis is 16% with an incidence varying from 0.2 to 200 per 100,000 of the population.
