Knowledge of the soul - Confidential

Knowledge of Unalloyed Pure Devotion – Most Confidential Knowledge

The Sanskrit word anasüyave in this verse is also very significant. Generally the commentators, even if they are highly scholarly, are all envious of Kåñëa , the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Even the most erudite scholars write on Bhagavad- gétä very inaccurately. Because they are envious of Kåñëa , their commentaries are useless. The commentaries given by devotees of the Lord are bona fide. No one can explain Bhagavad- gétä or give perfect knowledge of Kåñëa if he is envious. One who criticizes the character of Kåñëa without knowing Him is a fool. So such commentaries should be very carefully avoided. [BG 9.1]

How Narada Muni became a great KC devotee

I was born as an insignificant son of a maidservant.

Once during Caturmaas time, the four months of the rainy season, some exalted vaishnavas came to the brahmana’s school.

Because she was attending to their needs, I also got the opportunity to render personal service unto them. They blessed me with their causeless mercy.

Once with their permission, I took the remnants of their food and all of my sins were eradicated.

In their association, I heard Krsna’s attractive pastimes. My taste for such topics increased at every step.

I realised myself to be different from the gross and subtle bodies. I loved those pure devotees greatly, and with very gentle behaviour , I strictly followed their instructions.

When they were about to depart, they instructed me in Bhakti yoga, the art of using everything in the service of the Lord to ultimately return back home back to Godhead.

Even though my mother had passed away and I became alone, I immediately left home and started for the north.

Since I had become very thirsty and fatigued, I drank the water and bathed to refresh myself.

Then I sat down in the shade of a great banyan tree and began meditating upon Supreme Soul within, As I had learned from my spiritual masters.

As soon as I concentrated my mind upon the lotus feet of the Lord, it became transformed due to transcendental love. As tears fell from my eyes, Lord Krishna appeared on the lotus of my heart. All my senses became spiritually enlivened. And very soon Lord vanished from my sight.

Lord while remaining invisible spoke to me : “O boy, you will not be able to see Me again during this lifetime, because one who is not complete in services and freed from all material contamination can hardly approach Me.

“As a special favor, I have shown Myself to you, just to increase your desire to come to Me. By my mercy, you will always remember Me and will continue making advancement in KC even at time of creation or annihilation.

Thus fully absorbed in thinking of Lord Krishna, in due course of time I was freed from all Material attachment, I met with death.

Instantaneously I received a transcendental form as NARADA. Since then, by grace of Lord Visnu, I have been travelling everywhere both in spiritual and material worlds singing on Vina glories of Lord.
