2. INTRODUCTION Glenmark is a multi-national pharmaceutical company which was founded in 1977 by Gracias Saldhanha. It is a generic drug as well as active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturer industry, headquartered in Mumbai, India. Gracias saldhanha named the company after his two sons “Glenn” and “Mark”. The company initially sell its products in India, Russia, Africa and some European countries. By the year 2008 Glenmark was the fifth biggest pharmaceutical manufacturing company in India. Glenmark has its main big plants at Nashik, Ahmadabad, Indore, Chennai, etc

3. COMPANY’S FOCUS The company focused on new drugs and biosimilars in the fields of:- CANCER DERMATOLOGY RESPIRATORY DISEASES

4. HISTORY The company incorporated on 18 th November 1977 as “Glenmark pharmaceuticals private limited” under the companies act 1956. Glenmark became public limited company on January 12, 1996. In 1979, company entered the anti-fungal market where competition was less. In 1987, company started a Research and Development (R&D) department at its NASHIK factory. Between 2005 to 2011 Glenmark forges alliance with many multinational companies of USA, Russia, Japan, Australia and the European union. Between the same duration company launched ASCORIL EXPECTORANT and CANDID DUSTING POWDER which became brand by itself and even today are popular in the world market.
