A globe is a small scale 3 dimensional model of the earth. It shows the exact shape of the earth. It also shows the shapes of the continents and the oceans. GLOBE
It is bulky and cannot stored easily. Details regarding landforms, location of small town cannot be shown. It cannot provide detailed information about climate, vegetation, agriculture. DISADVANTAGES OF GLOBE
A diagrammatic representation of an area of land or sea showing physical features, cities, roads, etc. What is a map?
Advantages (pros) It is easy to handle and carry. It can show continents, countries, cities and even a local area. Disadvantages (cons) It cannot show the curved surface of area. When it is drawn, the shapes and sizes of the continents and oceans get distorted. PROS AND CONS
