gold Youth Development Agency
Opportunity to collaborate to demonstrate proofs of concept for scale up of youth-driven microbusinesses
Youth- led change across Africa-Microbusiness Development Focus
“Honestly, this is a huge opportunity for me
because we have the chance to uplift the
standard of living in my community and it is
also going to be an example for other young
entrepreneurs in my community that it is
possible for them to run a business to generate
an income and that it's not always about
looking for a job… you can create a business
that will generate an income for you.”

gold-youth’s Mission
Through the goldPeer
Education Model, we are
embedding peer leaders and
their mentors into schools and
communities, developing young
people from being passive
recipients of negative norms to
proactive agents of positive
change, who are empowering
themselves and their peers to
become the ethical and
economically independent
leaders of tomorrow.

Microbusinesses Development is…
1: The selection, entrepreneurial development and financing of
enterprising youth and goldGrads (alumni) as gold
microbusiness owners and agents.
2: The collaborative testing and incubation of youth-led sustainable microbusinesses as a scalable job creation platform across gold- activated communities; testing solutions (e.g. food security, power security and digital inclusion) and strengthening micro-economies, ground up.
Our ‘Why’ for Scalable Youth-led Businesses
Economic growth at scale is hindered by the lack of relational capital in
grassroots communities/villages as well as lack of access to quality
grassroots talent. With effective access to these communities and to
their youth talent pipelines, we are fostering entrepreneurial mindsets
and incubation of market-led microbusinesses as a critical job creation
and self-employment strategy in communities where few, if any,
meaningful economic opportunities exist for youth.
We are in the start-up phase of collaborating with industry leaders to
unlock micro- economies across Sub- Saharan Africa by identifying
quality youth and testing profitable business models, opportunities and
African enterprises that provide critical solutions and last mile value to
priority communities.
We are learning from real life testing. As business experiments fail we
learn collectively. We aim to maximize the learning.
