GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM (GPP) GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM (GPP) “Gulayan sa Paaralan Programs (GPP)” is the establishment of school garden in public elementary and secondary schools nationwide. This program is part of the national effort to ensure the development, nutrition and quality of education among Filipino students. GPP is also inline with the DepEd Memorandum No. 223 series of 2016, entitled “Strengthening the Implementation of the GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM (GPP)”. GPP was implemented since 2007 through the DepEd Memorandum No. 293, in partner with the Department of Agriculture-High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP). BACKGROUND

• Showcase small – scale food production model in schools for the households / communities to replicate, and purposely to promote family food security. • Promote the consumption of vegetables , which have rich sources of protein, vitamins, minerals and fibers among the students, their households, and the local community. • Serve as a model for small-scale vegetable production and source of seeds that can be used for the sustainability and continuity of the program.
