“In the Earth”

On the earth,
What do you see?

Grass and trees
And the deep blue
sea.

In the earth,
What do you see?

Metal and rock
As hot as can be!

Where can you find all these things?
What kind of things are grass and
trees?
What about water, metal and rocks?

Aside from grass and trees, what
are the other living things found
on earth?
Why do you say that they are
living things?

What is Science?

The word science comes from
the Latin word scientia,
which means, “to know”.

Science is a systematized
body of knowledge based
on facts.

It explains occurrences
through objective means,
such as observing, studying
and experimenting.

It is a way of
learning how things
work.

Is Science
Important?

The answer lies right
in front of our eyes.

Think about a world
without technology.

No computers, no
cars. No vaccines or
cures for diseases.

Life would be
joyless and
extremely hard.

It was not long
ago that this was
the case.

Importance of Science
and Technology

They provide answer to
many questions about the
environment.

They make certain
things possible.

They help us to do
our work efficiently.

They help improve the
quality of life.

Valuing:
All things around us are
important, how could we
take care of them?

WRAPPING UP:
What is Science?
Where was the word
science derived from?

Seatwork

God is the creator and
the inventors of all
the things that we are
enjoying now.
“Write a short prayer
thanking God for his
wonderful creation.”
