Take out your homework (notebook). I’ll be coming around to check. Your team is going to write your version of the Myth of Horus and Seth as a relay: Decide who’s going to be #1~4. Person #1 will write the first sentence of the story, then pass the paper to person #2 for the next sentence, etc. You have 5 minutes to tell me your team’s version of the Myth! Seth (god of storms, deserts, and chaos) wanted to take his brother, Osiris ’s, job as king of the gods. So Seth killed Osiris & threw his body parts throughout Egypt. This caused the goddess Isis (wife of Osiris) to search for Osiris’s body parts. Once all parts were found, Isis brought Osiris back to life & Osiris= god of the underworld. Isis then gave birth to their son, Horus , & hid him until he grew up safely and battled Seth. Horus king of the gods. Myth of Horus and Seth
Answers to HW: The Eye of Horus Representing Horus’s eye that was destroyed by Seth in their battle, then restored The symbol of the pharaohs because Egyptians believe pharaoh= Horus! The pharaoh is Horus in life & Osiris in death.

Why and How Pyramids were Built Pyramid Video According to the video, how were the pyramids built?
Short Lecture: Primary and Secondary Sources A primary source = information about an event made by someone who was there. A secondary source = information from someone who was NOT there at the event. What we know as history =the best interpretations from primary sources!
Is this a primary source or secondary source? A: Secondary Source Why? Because the textbook’s authors didn’t live in the ancient times, Authors wrote the textbook using information found in ancient times.
Is this a primary source or secondary source? A: Primary Source Why? Because the document is a part of an actual Book of the Dead scroll from ancient Egypt, which was written during the time it was used. John Taylor is the curator of the ' Journey through the afterlife: ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead ' exhibition, a hugely popular programme that opened at the British Museum in November, 2010.
With your team, brainstorm some strengths and weaknesses of using a visual (like an artwork or photograph, something you can see) as a primary source.
