Research Achilles Open a word file and put the title above Last lesson, we heard the story of the epic poem ‘The Iliad’. Today we are going to research the story of Achilles too, There are lots of websites that give information on this, but if you are struggling, use https://www.history.com/topics/ancient-history/achilles _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Achilles was a demi-god, meaning that one of his parents was human and the other was a Greek god; what were the names of his parents and which one was a god? Achilles’ mother was concerned that her son was mortal and could therefore die, so she dipped him in the River Styx, because its waters were said the give invulnerability to the gods. However, which part of his body did she not immerse in water and therefore where was he vulnerable? What qualities did Achilles have that made him a Greek hero? How was it predicted that Achilles would die? Why did Agamemnon and Achilles argue and what did Achilles do as a result of this?
