2. WHAT IS GENE THERAPY? According to National Library of Medicine Gene therapy is a medical approach that treats or prevents disease by correcting the underlying genetic problem. Gene therapy techniques allow doctors to treat a disorder by altering a person’s genetic makeup instead of using drugs or surgery.

4. What is Mutation in Gene? A mutation is a change in the DNA sequence of an organism . Mutations can result from errors in DNA. In short Mutation is defect in the gene causes to not work properly. Genes are not work properly can have serious consequences. Scientist are working to find ways to solve this problem.

Scientist can repair a defective Gene Add a new Gene to fix the problem Turn off a problem Gene Scientist are working on introducing a brand new Gene which is made outside the body in a lab and it’s transfer into the body to replace the mutated Gene. Scientist use viruses that called “VECTORS” which like little delivery to get repaired Gene into your body. Scientist make this virus safe by removing all the stuff that can make you sick. the vectors carries the repaired gene into the cell.

6. Gene Therapy is done to : Fix genes that don't work properly . Faulty genes that cause disease could be turned off so that they no longer promote disease. Or healthy genes that help prevent disease could be turned on so that they could stop the disease. Replace genes that don't work properly. Some cells become diseased because certain genes don't work properly or no longer work at all. Replacing these genes with healthy genes may help treat certain diseases . Make the immune system aware of diseased cells. In some cases, your immune system doesn't attack diseased cells because it doesn't see them as intruders. Healthcare professionals could use gene therapy to train your immune system to see these cells as a threat.

7. Gene therapy aims to fix a faulty gene or replace it with a healthy gene to try to cure disease or make the body better able to fight disease . It holds promise as a treatment for a wide range of diseases.
