Potting Media

Feeding

ground.
ØItcanbedonebyliquidmanuringortop-dressingatregularintervals.
ØIncaseoftop-dressing,top2-5cmoftopsoilisremovedbyscrappingand
freshcompostisreplenishedinitsplace.Thisoperationshouldbe
repeatedoncein3-4months.
ØTophardsurfaceofthesoilofpotisforkedoccasionallytoadepthof
about2cmtofacilitateaerationandpenetrationofwater.

Deadheading
ØPinchingorcuttingofffadedblooms,knownasdeadheadingisessential.It
encouragesaplanttokeepproducingmoreflowers.
ØForplantswithtinyflowersandstems,shearthewholeplantbacktoabout
one-thirdofitssize.
Repotting
ØIftheplantsaregettingoversizedforthepotorthesoilhasbecomeold
andtherootsareseentowindroundthesideofthepotitisdesirabletodo
repotting.

GeneralPrecautionsinPottingandRepotting
ØThesizeofthepotsshouldnotbetoolargeortoosmall.
ØPlantsinthepotsshouldnotbeplantedtoodeeportooshallow.
ØImmediatelyafterpottingplantsshouldbeshiftedtoashadedplacefor
properrootestablishmentandgraduallytheperiodofsunexposureshould
beincreased.
