Habit 3 : Put first things first Quadrant 11 Prepared by: Jessa Mae Rasallo

Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least. - Goethe 2 Question 1: What one thing could you do (something you aren’t doing now) that, if you did it on a regular basis, would make a tremendous positive difference in your personal life? Question 2: What one thing in your business or professional life would bring similar results?

Habit 3 3 What is Habit 3? Habit 3 is the second creation, the physical creation. It’s the fulfillment, the actualization, the natural emergence of Habits 1 and 2. It’s the exercise of independent will toward becoming principle-centered. It’s the day-in, day-out, moment-by-moment doing it. “Putting first things first means organizing and executing around your most important priorities. It is living and being driven by the principles you value most, not by the agendas and forces surrounding you.”

6 Quadrant II Covey’s  Quadrant 2 is not urgent, but important. This is where effective people focus their time and energy , and the discipline to prioritize these tasks is key to self-management and achieving your personal mission. Quadrant 2 includes activities that could easily be put off for their lack of apparent urgency, but which will greatly benefit your life in the long term if you invest the time in them; they include developing relationships, defining your personal mission statement, exercising, and performing preventive maintenance

7 Quadrant II Urgent means it requires immediate attention. It’s “Now!” Urgent things act on us. Importance, on the other hand, has to do with results. If something is important, it contributes to your mission, your values, your high priority goals.
