She married a farmer and
continued to work in the rice
fields.
This could have been her only
story. But it changed.

Today, Chinnaponnu also has a buffalo, which has
helped her family income increase to
Rs 1,500 per month.
She has learnt about savings and
manages her SHG finances.

The family has built a new home.
They can now afford private healthcare.
Chinnaponu talks to strangers now; she has
learnt new ideas. She feels she has a
purpose in life beyond work and family.
At 44, she has learnt learnt how to sign
her name.

commencement of the programme who were Below Poverty Line
