Food is a substance put together by nature into plant or animal’s life. There are two general groups of food: Those that give energy for life, growth, and repair are known as energy-growth giving foods. Those that are needed by the body to help do its work are known as regulating foods. This work of the body is done by different organs. Basic Elements in Food

Food must be eaten in its natural state , which means food must be eat raw. Heat destroys the nutritional value. Physical needs are the primordial concern in eating . People eat if they are hungry, not because it is only a habit. Avoid overeating for it shortens the life span brought by excess weight . Overeating is one of the prime causes of most degenerative diseases: debilitate the stomach, weakness the digestive organ and bring a disease and food becomes poison when it is eaten in excess of the body. Drinking before meals can stop the secretion of digestive juices. Drink 30 minutes before and after meals for easy digestion. I f taken with meals, it can diminish the flow of the salivary glands. I f there is more liquid in the stomach, it is difficulty to digest because the liquid would be absorbed first. Principles of Hygienic Food Intake

Avoid foods that have been processed, blended, mixed, or tampered. As much as possible, avoid these food, instead eat the natural ones. If possible, eat protein foods first .
