Misconceptions, myths, and beliefs about common communicable disease MISCONCEPTIONS TRUTH My immune system is healthy, so I don’t need immunization. Besides, vaccines are dangerous Vaccines work with your immune system to help you fight infection. I can stop taking antibiotics when I start to feel better. Antibiotics take time to work completely against bacterial infections. You need to take the full course you are prescribed to be sure the infection is cured, even if you are feeling better Over-the-counter cough and cold medications cure infections. Medications for fevers ‘by themselves or in combination with decongestants, antihistamines, and cough suppressants ’don’t cure illness. They just help make the symptoms more bearable until your body’s immune system is able to fight off the virus I don’t need to worry about having a fever if it’s not too high Even a low-grade fever is often a sign that your body is fighting an infection. If you have a fever with a cough or with vomiting and diarrhea or a rash, these can all be signs that the infection may be one that you can pass on to others. It mainly affects older people More than 50% of the global burden of CDs falls on people younger than 70 years. So, while the diseases are associated with ageing, the global burden is not simply an outcome of ageing populations.

What I can DO? I use my own personal things. I use my own spoon, fork, and drinking bottle when I’m at school. I wash my hands often. I wear clean clothes I don’t cover my nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. I stay home when I’m sick. I exercise proper care of handling my pet. 8. I visit my doctor for my health state. I rely on faith healers when I got sick. I guarantee that my water supply is safe. I don’t deal with proper waste disposal. I don’t participate in vaccination programs. I don’t take medications, I’m just waiting my symptoms to subside.
