measurements erors mayoccur. In avoiding inaccuracies of the
results, follow the instructions below:
1) Aim towards the center of one's forehead from a distance of
1-3cm and keeps vertical, then press the measuring key. The
temperature is displayed on the indicator immediately;
2) Before measurements, please make sure there is no hair,
perspiration, makeups or hat covered on the forehead;
3) Keep the device in the measuring environment for more
than 5 minutes.Measuresafter the device's temperature
becomes accordancewith the measuringenvironment;
4) Cold compression and other cooling measures taken by the
tested person may lead to lowered measurements results
Measurements should avoid to be taken under such
circumstances;
5) Measurements should be taken in stable temperature
environment. Do not operate the device near to fan, air
conditioner outlet where the airflow is strong;
6) Under the changing environment, the thermometer should
be stable for 20 minutesbeforeuse.
7) The test objectis suitable for all people, forehead or wrist,
and the dlinicaldeviation is +0.2 C.

10. Batteries Replacement
The device uses 3.0VDC (two AAA alkaline batteries). When the
device shows that the battery is low, please refer to Battery
Installation chapter to change the batteries.
Cautions:
1) When opening the battery cover, pay special attention to the poles
of the batteries. Wrong poles could lead to damage to the device
2) After long period out of service, please take out the batteries in
prevention of leakage.
3) When the battery leaks or molds, please do not use the batteries.
4) Do not take the batteries close to or throw them into fire in
prevention of explosion
5) Do not store batteries in overheat or humid environment.
6) In prevention of short circuit, do not place batteries, coins, keys
and other metal materials together in a pocket or in containers that
could lead to short circuit problem.
11. Cleaning and Maintenance
The infrared
sensor is the most intricate part of the
device. Do not
touch the sensor with fingers or other materials. Sensor should be
under careful protection, or else the accuracy of measurements will
be affected.
Clean the device with a cotton bud lightly moistened with 70%-75%
alcohol. Do not let the liquid enter inner body of the device. Do not
clean the device with corrosive detergent. Do not immense the device
with water or other liquids.
(13)

12. Electromagnetic Compatibility
Protects the surface of LCD carefully.
Place the device in a dry environment, and keep it away from dust,
pollution
and direct sunlight.
Cleaning every half a year or less is suggested.
Cautions:
1) User should install and operate the thermometer according to
the Electromagnetic Compatibility information in the files
attached to the device.
2) Portable product and RF communication equipment may
affect the performance of the device. Avoid the disturbance of
strong electromagnetic equipment, like mobile phones,
microwaves.
3) For more information, please refer to Chapter 16.
Cautions:
Waming:
The device should not operate next to or piled up with other
equipment. If necessary, observation should be conducted in
making sure it operates properly.
Use of accessories and cables other than manufacturer-provided
applications may cause extra radiation of infrared ray or lower
capability of disturbance resistance.
(14)

13. Troubleshooting
Question 1: Why does the screen display 'Lo' in the same
environment?
Answer: Possibilities:
1) The measurements distance is too far. The device may have
measured the temperature of the environment. The thermometer is
designed to measure temperature within a distance of 1-3cm. The
best distance is around 1cm.
2) The measurements position is improper. The thermometer should
be aimed at the center of one's forehead and should be vertical
3) The measured person may have hair, perspiration, water over his
forehead. The person may have been cooling compressed,
Antipyretics prescribed, blown by cold wind. The measurements
should be retaken after the measured person stay in a stable
environment for 5-10minutes.
Very few people have lower forehead temperature than others
when they were born. In this occasion, the results may remain to be
Lo'. The user could select 'In Surface Mode' to measure the target
as well as other people'sforeheadsurfacetemperature. The
comparison could be made under contrast.
4) overall temperature
error.
Question 2: Feels liketheresult is inaccurate whenfirst use. Why?
Answer: Advice for the 1st use are listed as follows:
(15)

Troubleshooting
1)
Place the thermometer in a stable environment for more than
30 minutes;
2) Take the temperature of a person using
a conventional
thermometer, getting a 36.8°C result for instance;
3) Take the temperature of the same person using the
non-contact infraredthermometer. Keep the 1-3 cm distance
between the thermometer and the forehead, take care to remove
any obstacle which could alter the measurements (hair,
perspiration...). If the similar result is got, the non-contact
infrared thermometer is properly. set and ready for use.
Question 3: Is there any harm to human body using the infrared
thermometer? Is there any radiation?
Answer: Infrared thermometer is used to measure human body
temperature by collecting infrared radiation of human body. It
passively receives infrared radiation energy. It does not need to
contact human body directly and does not bring cross infection
of different human bodies. The thermometer has no radiation to
human body, so it has no harm to human body.
Question 4: The thermometer shows temperature over-high and
over-low to all tested people, is it a product quality problem?
Answer: This kind of problem is generallycaused by the setting
of the thermometer. It can be corrected according to user's
instructions.

14. Temperature Knowledge
The human body is a complex biological comprehensive system.
Body temperature is an important feature of human body
and life.
Usually,
we check the temperature of forehead, cochlea, anus, oral
cavity
and underarms to evaluate our health condition. Different
body parts own different regular temperature.

temperature
Human body temperature changes with time within a day and is also
affected by other external conditions such as age, gender, skin
color, skin thickness and age. Specifications
are listed in the table.
There exist difference between female body temperature and male
body temperature. Generally speaking,
men are about 0.3C higher.
Female bodytemperature during
ovulation willrise0.3C to 0.5 C
thanusual. Therefore, we canusethisto knowwhether a woman is
in the ovulation period to facilitate heredity or contraception.
(17)

Temperature Knowledge
The usual method is to use a thermometer to measure the basal
body temperature of a female individual every day, and then
convert it into a basal body temperature change curve chart,
which can clearly
see the ovulation period.
