Slide 2
Skeletal muscle
(Striated)
* Component & Characteristics :
1-Striated muscle fibers (skeletal).
2-Transverse striation :
A -Band > Dark.
I -Band > Light.
3-Cylindrical fibers.
4-Peripheral nuclei.
5-Connective tissue fibroblasts.

Skeletal muscle
* Component & Characteristics :
1-L.S. Skeletal muscle fibers.
2-T.S. Skeletal muscle fibers.
3-Striated.
4-Peripheral nuclei.
5-Fused myoblasts (syncytium).
6-Multinuclei.
* Function :
-Strong and sustained contraction.
-Red fibers : Small diameter, not easily fatigued, slow.
-White fibers : Big diameter, easily fatigued, fast

Hyaline Cartilage in Trachea (Windpipe)
(Elective single)
* Component & Characteristics :
1-Hyaline cartilage.
2-Cell nest (isogenous).
3-Hyaline matrix.
4-Fibrocartilaginous layer.
5-Tracheal muscle: (Posterior to give space for the esophagus).
6-Perichondrium : (Collagen fibers, Fibroblasts, Chondrogeniccells).
7-Tracheal gland (Mocu-serous).
8-Mucosa.
9-Submucosa.
10-Fibrosa.
11-Respiratory epithelium :
(Pseudostratified columnar ciliated + Goblet calls.)
* Function :
Hyaline cartilage :
-Keep the airway patent.
-Protect the vital organ and allow movement.
Trachea :
-Air conditioning, conduction, and cleaning (filtration).

(Collagen fibers + Fibroblast + chondrogeniccells).
2-Chondroblast(Spindle shape).
3-Chondrocyte (Rounded or hemispherical).
4-Elastic fibers.
