2. The universe In short words , it’s everything that exist . It is called “cosmos”, and the study of it is called “ Cosmology ” Everything we can touch, feel, sense, measure or detect on Earth is a part of the universe. All the planets and stars in the sky, the entire solar system, milky way and galaxies are part of the universe.

3. Facts about the universe * The universe has no Centre * The universe seems to be cooling and may eventually freeze . * Big, empty spaces in the universe are called “ Voids ”

4. * Some scientists today think the universe is flat. * There is no air in space * For away galaxies are constantly moving further away from Earth as the univers e expands .

5. The universe is so big that you can put a billion of Earth and you can’t even see it . Even astronauts that travel to space have only seen a tiny amount of universe.

6. Planets , stars and galaxies only take up around 5% of space . Most of space is empty , meaning that there just bits of dust and gas inside it . Scientist can only measure the size of the universe based on what we can see . This is called the “observable universe” And its about 83 million light- years wide . (Light- years are a form of space measurement )

7. Features that define the Universe. Matter All what occupies a place in the space and can be observable or perceptible. Energy The ability that an object or body has for making a job or doing a function Space The place that matter occupies , therefore everyting that exists has a place in the universe. Time A measure that allows us to establish the duration of events .
