HIV awareness involves understanding that HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) attacks the immune system, but can be prevented through methods like condom use and PrEP, and transmitted through specific bodily fluids like blood and semen. Regular testing is crucial, as the only way to know your status is to be tested. People with HIV can live long, healthy lives with treatment, and taking medication can prevent transmission to others.

Is hiv curable?
No , HIV is not curable with current medical treatments, but it is manageable. Antiretroviral therapy (ART) can effectively control the virus, allowing people with HIV to live long and healthy lives and greatly reduce the risk of transmission. Starting ART as soon as possible after diagnosis is crucial for maximizing its effectiveness and preventing the progression of the disease. Preventive Measures Pre-exposure prophylaxis ( PrEP ) with medications like lenacapavir can prevent HIV infection in individuals at high risk.
