Stem dells and it’s application

What is stem cells..? Are unspecialized cells that have the ability to continuously divide and differentiate ( develop) into various other kind(s) of cells/tissues trough cell division. Unlike other cells, stem cells begin as “ blanks “ without a dedicated task, but with an ability to become specialized. Stem cells can divide indefinitely stem cell line.

Just like the stem of a plant will produce branches, leaves, and flowers, so stem cells can usually produce many different kinds of cells

What makes stem cells so valuable?

Stem cells can: self-renew to make more stem cells. Differentiate into a specialized cell type.

Classification of stem cells Totipotent stem cells can differentiate into all possible cell types. The first few cells that appear as the zygote starts to divide are totipotent. stem cells are able to divide and differentiate into cells of the whole organism, has the highest differentiation potential and allows cells to form both embryo and extra-embryonic structures. These cells are produced from the fusion of an egg and sperm cell, and can construct a complete, viable organism P luripotent stem cells can give rise to all cell types of the body (but  not the placenta ). Multipotent stem cells can give rise to only a few type of cells. Unipotent stem cells can give ris e into only one cell type.
