2. What is Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils and
will often, but not necessarily, cause a
sore throat and fever.
There are 3 main types of tonsillitis: acute,
subacute and chronic. Acute tonsillitis can
either be bacterial or viral in origin.
Subacute tonsillitis is caused by the
bacterium Actinomyces. Chronic tonsillitis,
which can last for long periods if not
treated, is mostly caused by bacterial
infection.

3. Symptoms
Symptoms of tonsillitis include a severe
sore throat (which may be experienced as
referred pain to the ears), painful/difficult
swallowing, coughing, headache, fever and
chills. Tonsillitis is characterized by signs of
red, swollen tonsils which may have a
purulent exudative coating of white patches
(i.e. pus). There may be enlarged and
tender neck cervical lymph nodes.

4. Causes
Tonsillitis may be caused by Group A
streptococcal bacteria, resulting in strep
throat.[1] Viral tonsillitis may be caused by
numerous viruses such as the Epstein-Barr
virus[1] (the cause of infectious
mononucleosis) or adenovirus.
Sometimes, tonsillitis is caused by a
superinfection of spirochaeta and
treponema, in this case called Vincent’s
angina or Plaut-Vincent angina.

5. Causes
Although tonsillitis is associated with
infection, it is currently unknown whether
the swelling and other symptoms are
caused by the infectious agents
themselves, or by the host immune
response to these agents. Tonsillitis may
be a result of aberrant immune responses
to the normal bacterial flora of the
nasopharynx.

Remedy 1:Tincture of Iodine,Water.
Add 5 drops of tincture of iodine to 1 glass
of water and mix.Make gargle with this
mixture.

Remedy 2:Stinging Nettle,Blackberry,Red
Rose,Sage,Violet,Water.
Add 1 double handful stinging nettle,1
double handful blackberry,1 double handful
red rose,1 double handful sage and 1
double handful violet to 5 glasses of
water.Boil and strain these.Add 1 glass of
cold water to this mixture and gargle with it
three times a day.

Remedy3:Cabbage,Water.
Add 10 cabbage leaves to 4 glasses of
water.Boil and strain.Gargle whit this water.
Remedy 4:Leek,Water.
Chop half a kilo grams of leek to 4 glasses
of water.Boil and inhale the vapour.

Remedy 5:Salt,Water.
Add 1 tea spoon of salt to 1 glass of warm
water and mix.Gargle with this mixture.
Remedy 6:Blackberry Syrup,Water.
Add 1 tea spoon of blackberry syrup to 1
glass of water and mix.Gargle with this
mixture.

Remedy 7:Lemon Juice,Honey.
Add 2 tea spoon of honey to 1 glass of
lemon juice and mix.Gargle with this
mixture.
Remedy 8:Lemon Juice,Sal
Ammoniac,Water.
Add half a tea glass of lemon juice and half
a tea spoon of powdered sal ammoniac to a
glass and mix.Gargle with this mixture.

Add 2 table spoon of camomile to 4 glasses
of water.Boil and strain.Gargle with this tea.

Remedy 11:Bullace,Water.
Add 2 table spoon (30 grams) of bullace to
4 glasses of water.Boil for 10 minutes then

Add 100 grams of oak bark to 4 glasses of

Remedy 13:Marshmallow
Flowers,Mulberry Syrup.
Infuse 1 pinch of marsh mallow flowers with
3 glasses of boiling water for 10
minutes.Strain,add 1 tea glass of mulberry
syrup and mix well.Gargle with this mixture.

Remedy 14:Raspberry Flowers,,Water.
Add half a tea glass (75 grams) of
raspberry flowers to 4 glasses of water.Boil
and strain.Gargle whit this tea.
Remedy 15:Radish,Honey,Water.
Wash half a kilograms of radishes,peel,and
chop.Boil with 4 glasses of water and
strain.Add 1 tea glass of honey and mix
well.Gargle with this mixture.

15. Home Remedies For Tonsillitis
Remedy 16:Boric Acid,Water.
Add 2 table spoon (30 grams) of boric acid
to 4 glasses of boiling water and mix
well.Gargle with this mixture.
Remedy 17:Fig Leaves,Water.
Add 8 fig leaves to 4 glasses of water.Boil
and strain.Gargle with this tea when it is
warm enough.

16. Home Remedies For Tonsillitis
Remedy 18:Onion,Fresh Grapes,Honey.
Put 2 glasses of fresh grape juice,1 tea
glass of onion juice and 1 tea glass of
honey to a bottle.Keep it at a warm place
for 15 days.When you need gargle with
this.
