4. SILICEA TERRA COMMON NAME : Pure silica KINGDOM : Mineral Kingdom PROVER : Dr. Hahnemann CHEMICAL FORMULA : Silicic oxide

5. INTRODUCTION One of the 12 tissue remedy of Schuesslar . Great polycrest remedy . Long and deep acting remedy but acts slowly. Also called as “SURGEON’S KNIFE”. Can reach to that sphere of man where surgeon’s knife cannot reach.

7. PATHOGENESIS Pus-forming remedy. Should not be give to patient whom there is a deposit of tubercular focus in lungs.

8. Inflammation and suppuration of tissues. Every little injury suppurates.

9. CLINICALS Abscess. Acne.

10. Glandular swelling. Boils.

11. Enuresis Somnambulism .

12. After effects of vaccinations. Headache.

13. Fistula. Constipation. BEING A POLYCREST REMEDY IS ACTS ON ALL THE SYSTEMS.

14. CONSTITUTION PHYSICAL MAKEUP : Person with light complexion. Pale face with lean and thin body. Sickly appearance with dry skin. Weak and lax musculature.

15. Temperament : Irritable and Sanguine temperament. Thermals : Extremely chilly. Miasm : Trimiasmatic . Predominantly psoric . Diathesis : Scrofulous diathesis.

25. Fears that he may fail. His mind won’t work out by prolonged efforts at mental level. When forced he goes with full of self-confidence, promptness and accuracy.

28. PARTICULARS HEAD : Head aches from fasting. Vertigo from looking up. Profuse offensive sweat of head up till the neck. Pain begins at occiput and spreads over head and settles over the eyes. Swelling in glabella . < draft of air and uncovering of head. >pressure and wrapping up warmly and profuse urination.

29. Eyes: Angles of eyes effected . Swelling of lachrymal duct. Aversion to light, esp. Daylight; produces sharp dazzling pain through eyes; eyes tender to touch; worse when closed. Confused vision. Styes Iritis and irido-choroiditis with pus in anterior chamber. Abscess in cornea after traumatic injury.

30. Nose : Itching at the point of nose. Dry, hard crust form, bleeding when loosened. Nasal bone sensitive. Sneezing in morning. Obstructed and loss of smell. Perforation of septum.

31. Face : Skin cracked at the margin of lips. Eruptions on chin. Facial neuralgia.. Worse in cold, damp weather.

32. Mouth: Sensation of hair on tongue. Gums sensitive to cold air. Boils on gums. Abscess at root to teeth. Pyorrhea ( merc cor ). Sensitive to cold water.

33. Stomach : Disgust for meat and warm food. Want of appetite; thirst excessive. Sour eructations after eating (sep ; clac ). Pit of stomach painful to pressure. Vomiting after drinking ( ars ; verat )

34. Abdomen : Pain or painful feeling in abdomen. Hard bloated. colic; cutting pain with constipation. Much rumbling in bowels.

35. Rectum : Fissures and haemorrhoids, painful, with spasm of sphincter. Stools comes out with difficulty ; when partly expelled, recedes again. Great straining. Faeces remains for long time in rectum. Constipation before and during menses. Diarrhoea of cadaverous odour.

36. Urinary : Bloody, involuntary, with red or yellow sediments. Prostatic fluid discharged when straining at stools. Nocturnal enuresis in children with worms.

37. Male : Burning and soreness of genitals, with eruptions on inner surfaces of thighs. Chronic gonorrhoea, with thick, fetid discharge. Elephantitis of scrotum. Nocturnal emissions. Hydrocele .

38. Female : A milky, acrid leucorrrhoea during urination. Itching of vulva and vagina; very sensitive. Increased menses, with paroxyms of ice coldness over whole body. Nipples very sore; ulcerated easily ; which iss drawn in. Abscess of labia. Vaginal cysts.( lyco , puls ). Hard lumps in breast.

39. Sleep : Night walking. Sleeplessness, with great orgasm of blood and heat in head. Anxious dreams. Excessive gaping.

40. Extremities : Pains through hips, legs and feets . Cramps in calves and soles. Loss of power in legs. Tremulous hands while using them. Paralytic weakness of forearm. Affections of finger nails esp. in white spots on nails. Icy cold and sweaty feet. OFFENSIVE SWEAT ON FEET, HANDS AND AXILLAE. Calves tensed and contracted. Sore toes. ( Ruta )

48. PRESENTING COMPLAINTS : MAIN COMPLAINT PAPULAR ERUPATION ON THE NECK Duration : 2 monthes Location : Front and right side of neck.

49. HISTORY OF PRESENTING COMPLAINT : A six years old girl was having the problem of papular eruptions on right side of neck which had severe itching with fetid discharges since last 2 months.

51. TREATMENT Rx, SILICEA 200 ONE DOSE SILICEA 30 1/2 DRAM FOR TDS FOLLOW UP AFTER 7 DAYS.
