2. Hospital Emergency Codes To activate : Dial 999 and announce code & Place ( Three Times Loud & Clear) Blue Red Yellow Pink Purple/ Voilent Orange Grey Black

3. Code Blue Cardiac and/or Respiratory Arrest Dial 999 and announce Code & Place three times Loud and clear. The code team will respond with in 5 min. Specify of location of Emergency, 1. e.g : 2 nd floor, Male Surgery 2 nd ,2. e.g : 1 st floor Private ward room no 101.

4. Code blue Team members Anesthetic Physician Nursing Supervisor Casualty incharge/ Senior Nursing Officer ICU incharge/Senior Nursing Officer Dept. Nursing officer Admin on duty for Safety arrangement

5. Code Red Means that there is an actual fire Dial 999 and announce Code & Place three times Loud and clear. Know the floor plan of your dept. & the hospital as a whole Pay attention to exit routes Know the exact location of fire alarms and fire extinguishers

6. Code Yellow

7. Code Yellow This is the notification of a External Disaster(usually call by a Emergency Dept ) Try to keep the caller on the phone. Obtain as much info. as possible. When and how to activate? After receiving 10 cases from external disaster , code yellow will activated. Head of ER will inform the duty/Medical Superintendent/Manager on then approval for activation will confirmed. Every body will follow the emergency operation plan.

8. Code Pink Missing Infant/infant abduction Go to closest exit and watch for anyone with an infant or with a package that could hold an infant. Get a good description of the person Report information to administration/security Closed all outer exits . STORK: S: Search – The unit for /child and secure the scene. T: Telephone notification by calling the emergency hospital code 999, and give the important information.

9. O: Obtain pertinent information and protect the potential crime until safety & security manager arrives. R: Report and Reassign the mother/family to a different room for security purposes K: Keep all staff and visitors on the unit until police arrives. Police authorities will release staff and visitors at their discretion.

10. Code Purple /Violent Code purple for all physical assault in the hospital either with patient or visitors or staff. Purpose: To establish a process to protect from assault in the hospital. To establish a process to protect hospital staff from assault. To establish standardized g uidelines and procedure in the event of an assault occurred with in the hospital.

11. Code Orange To activate code orange condition of Major spill – above 10cm. Follow the process of announcement. Spill Team: Admin on floor duty Housekeeping Supervisor on duty. Nursing Supervisor on Duty Housekeeping staff Ward. Housekeeping staff Corridor.

12. Code Grey Internal Disaster: Inform to Admin on floor duty/Supervisor Dial 999 and announce code & place three times Loud and clear. Evacuate the concern area . Reach safe and secure place
