2. Introduction Enterpr ise Odoo handles deferred revenue, also known as unearned revenue, which is money received from customers upfront for goods or services that haven't been delivered yet. In this slide we’ll discuss how to configure deferred revenue in Odoo in Accounting app.

3. Enterprise First, we can add the default deferred revenue account in which deferred revenue entries should be posted.

4. Enterprise Choose the type of this account as current liabilities.

5. Enterprise In Generate revenue entries, we can choose either on invoice validation or Manually and grouped option. Deferred entries will be automatically created once invoice is posted if we choose On invoice Validation.

6. Enterprise For amount computation we have two methods, Equal per month and based on days. For equal per month it will be equally split in each month and for based on days method, based on number of days in each month, it will be calculated.

7. Enterprise After setting the default accounts, we can create the invoice . Choose the invoice date appropriately and make sure to include the start date and end date. Only then, if we validate the invoice, the deferred entries will be created.

8. Enterprise If we click on the deferred entries button in invoice, we can see the deferred entries for the period. Based on the computation method we have chosen, the entries are splitted equally for each month.
