STRATEGIES THAT WILL HELP A CHILD LEARN (8 MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE IN THE CLASSROOM-different ways in which each person learns best) Linguistic - uses words effectively orally or written skilled with words and language .-word smart, they can write, speak, use proper grammar and large vocabulary. WHAT TO DO: Linguistic- Have daily schedule with printed words displayed in your large group area write or print ,give things to recite or memorize Logical-mathematical – give number each rule. solve problem Spatial – picture smart student use symbols objects to represent each rule ( like shoe if walking) ,always use pictures in lessons Bodily- kinesthetic- give each rule a specific gesture such as finger to lips, two finger to represent walking ,model with clay.always have action songs, finger plays

REASONS WHY THEY DIDN’T PAY ATTENTION The classroom schedules may not be well balanced ( lessons/movement and listening activities, songs and fingerplays It is sometimes the first time of children to be in the large group (overwhelming and over stimulating for some) They don’t understand the language or the medium of instruction. Some children are used to be one on one at home Some are early age, don’t have the ability to focus and pay attention (Children with special needs, developmental delays)

WHAT TO DO WITH THEM? Avoid raising voice Avoid making threats Avoid command attention Use positive phrases ( We’re going to have an amazing story today!) Invite student to select their favorite song or fingerplay Consider child’s strength ( ex.if you can hear clap your hands) Incorporate singing with movement and sign language ,finger plays

OTHER TECHNIQUES/STRATEGIES THAT HELP TO GET THEIR ATTENTION: This game is a little bit like Simon says by saying if you are listening put your hands on your lap so on and so forth Use a musical instrument to get their attention Clap out a rhytm and the students repeat the rhythm Stand at the front with one hand in the air and and make a long continuous SSSSShhhhh Gossip one child in a strange way and show through facial expression that i am about to say something valuable hit a musical instrument, shake it then when they look at you tfold your hands so they copy that means they are ready to listen

Teacher says 123 eyes on me and they will answer 1,2 eyes on you, thumbs up if you understand thumbs down if you don't.then let them ask question those who don't. Say all pause,or touch the ceiling,or statue! Count one to ten with both hands then tell them at 10 everybody should pay attention Say to them where is my nose then they will authomatically point their nose and copy your action then say ssshhh Sing are you listening they will answer yes we are!

HOW ABOUT THE CHILD WITH ADHD- attention deficit hyperactivity disorder Means:-Hyper active, unable to control impulses and have trouble paying attention. -They can be easily distracted or daydreamy . Try these:Pass the ball back and forth. tell him repeat the direction everytime he throws..next he may use visual memory and have fun Say FREEZE! FOCUS! have him freeze in place in 10 seconds, when time is up ask him what to described threee thing while he was frozen Make memory musical.Experiment with your child's favorite song for a fun.( Ex. this is the way) Do all sorts of puzzle to boost child's concentration Make the day into a story. Many kids love to be the center of attention.Make him as the main character.
