Hajj: Major Hajj
Hajj is the 5

Hajj is fard on Affluent
(Saahib -e-Istetaa`at)

i.e., combination of all the Arakeen -e-Din.
It contain different types
of all the Ibaa`adat. e.g., Auraad, Waza`if,
prayers, effort like, spending money and
wealth, etc.
Warning
If an affluent
does not perform Hajj,
there is a threat for him
Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) says
“Whoever has the provisions and the means
to convey him to Allah’s House
And
he does not perform Hajj,
then it does not matter
if he dies as a Jew or a Christian.
That is, he/she has no relation with Islam

Signs of Accepted Hajj
The Pilgrim Must
1. Make tawa for all his sin by heart
2.The pilgrim must perform the acts of Hajj
perfectly according to Sunnah
3.Avoid keenly the prohibited acts completely
4.Avoid hypocrisy & show off
5.Bear Hajj expenses from Halal Income
If the Pilgrim`s inhabitance
on din improve after Hajj,
then his/her Hajj is
“ Hajj-e-Mabroor”
Hajj-e-Badal
Act of performing compulsory obligation of
Hajj on the behalf of someone else
1.One can perform Hajj-e-Badal, if he/she
has already performed his/her own Hajj
2.The Niyyah (intention) of hajj should be
made on behalf of Aamir while wearing
Ihram
3.Hajj-e-Badal can be performed by one
Muslim person (Mamur) only for another
single Muslim person (Aamir), like Heir for
inherited, etc.
4.Hajj-e-Badal shall be started from the
country of Aamir
5.For whom Hajj-e-Badal is to be performed,
Hajj on that person (Aamir) should be Fard
6.Hajj-e-Badal can only be performed by the
order of and at the expenses of Aamir.
Hajj is compulsory to each of the individual
Muslim who owns istita'ah (ability).
The pilgrim must have sufficient supplies
for himself as well as for his family that he
leaves behind.
Every Muslim who has achieved the
requirements must prepare themselves to
perform Hajj.
The pilgrim must write bequest as per
Sunnah, must forgive the others and must
ask others to forgive him/her.
Moreover, the pilgrim should not be under
debt.

Forms of Hajj
Hajj al-Tamattu
Pilgrims assumes Ihram for performing umrah only
during Hajj months. when they reach Makkah,
they perform Tawaf and Saa`eefor ‘Umrah.
They perform Halq or Qasr.
On 8
th
Dhul Hijjah (the day of Tarwiyah),
the pilgrims assume Ihram again,
but for Hajj only and carry out all the requirements of Hajj.
Hajj al-Qiraan
Pilgrims assumes Ihram for both umrah and hajj
or first for umrah, then makes intention for Hajj
before the Tawaf for Hajj.
The obligations on Qarin are same as on Ifrad,
except that it is compulsory for Qarin
to sacrifice an animal
while Ifrad are not obligated to perform so.
Hajj al-Ifrad
Pilgrims assumes Ihram for Hajj only.
When they reach Makkah,
they perform tawaf for their arrival and saa`ee for Hajj.
They don’t perform Halq or Qasr,
because they do not disengage from the Ihram.
Rather, they remain in the state of Ihram till after
throwing stone Jamraat Al-'Aqabah on the Eid day.

Hajj is fard on wealthy women
but with her real Mahram
A widow is not allowed to embark on Hajj
in the period of Iddah
Awoman in the state of menses
can assume Ihram after taking a bath,
forming intention for Hajj and reciting Talbiyah,
but not offering two raka’t nafl for Ihram.
Women can perform all the acts of Hajj
other than Tawaf and Tawaf al-Wida
For a better understanding of the matter,
please consult the scholar
A woman can not perform Hajj
without prior permission from her husband
Saudi Government permits a woman above 45
for Hajj but with organized group of fellow pilgrims
and NOC from her mahram.
Reward of Hajj for a woman is equal to reward of Jehad

Note: Minimum Hajj age requirement
according to shariah is puberty
The guardian/parent should make the intention of entering
Ihram for Hajj on behalf of the child (boy/girl),
if he/she is under the age of discernment
Wrap the infant in a white Ihram cotton sheet,
and pamper too, a conscious child must wear
two cotton sheets of Ihram like elders
The guardian is tomanage the affairs and perform
the rituals on the behalf of infant which includes
reciting Talbiyah, Performing Tawaf and Saa`ee
by picking up the infant on shoulders,
Feeding Zamzam, Shaving/trimming Head,
Stoning at Jamarat, and sacrificing the animal
However, the conscious child is required to perform
all therituals themselves including standing on Arafat,
spending night in Mina and Muzdalifah,
andperforming Tawaf and Saa’ee, etc.
Note: there is no penalty on child, if perform any prohibitive act
As a person (child) reach the age of puberty,
He/she must perform the obligatory Hajj if owns Istita`ah

Shave hair of the armpits,
remove pubic hair,
Have a bath (Ghusl) with
non-perfumed soap
or
just perform Wudu (ablution)
Do tawbah (Repentance)

I ask forgiveness of my sins from Allah
who is my Lord and I turn towards Him
Here I am at your service, O Allah, Here I am at your service. Here I am at your service, You have no partner, here I am at your service.
Truly all praise and blessings belong to You, and so does sovereignty. You have no partner
2. Assume Ihram for performing Hajj
One of the white sheet (Izar) is wrapped around
the waist, and covers the area between
the navel and feet, the other sheet (Rida) is meant for
upper half of the body, covering shoulders to navel.
Wear sandals or slippers.
Women wear scarf and gown
on simple clothes
but the scarf should not touch the face.
Wear comfortable canvas shoes.

Declare Niyyah (Intention)
of assuming Ihram
and offer two Raka't Nafl
In first raka`t recite Surah Al-Kafiroon
and in second raka`t Surah Al-Aklas
Al-kafiroon is to explicitly declare
renouncement of idol-worshiping,
Al-Aklas focus on tawheed (monotheism)
Remove Ihram from your head
Note; Don`t offer nafl in forbidden timings
4. Recite Niyyah for
Performing Hajj
O Allah! I make the intention of Hajj,
make it easy for me
and accept it from me.
Help me in performing it
and make it blessed for me.
I have made the intention for Hajj and
have worn its Ihram for the sake of Allah
O Allah! I make the intention of Ihram for Hajj,
accept it from me
5. Recite Talbiyah

6. Darood-e-Ibrahimi
O Allah! Bestow your favor on Muhammad
and on the family of Muhammad,
as you have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim

You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.
O Allah! Bless Muhammad
and the family of Muhammad,
as you have blessed Ibrahim
and the family of Ibrahim,
You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.
7. Dua
O Allah! I am performing the Hajj
in which there is neither any hypocrisy
nor the element of achieving any fame
O Allah! I ask of your pleasure
and for paradise, and I seek refuge from
your displeasure and from the Hellfire
8. Forbidden Acts
After declaring Niyyah and reciting Talbiyah,
ihram`s limitations starts
(Restrictions can not be started after
just wearing the Ihram)

Ihram is to declare a lawful things as Haram (unlawful) on oneself. After pronouncing niyyah and talbiyah by the pilgrim, certain permissible things becomes prohibited

لِا َلَّو ِّٰاللّ َناَحْبمُو ِِّٰ اِب �لِّا
There is no deity except Allah alone, no partner has he. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him is due all praise and He is overall things Powerful.
All praise is for Allah and Glorified is Allah and there is no deity except Allah and Allah is the Greatest and there is no power or might except with Allah
Glorified is the Allah whose throne is in the sky.
Glorified is the Allah whose command is enforced on earth.
Glorified is the Allah whose path is in the rivers.
Glorified is the Allah who has authority over Hell.
Glorified is the Allah whose mercy is in the Paradise.
Glorified is the Allah whose judgement is enforced in the graves.
Glorified is the Allah whose justice is in the Resurrection.
Glorified is the Allah whose justice is in the Airs.
Glorified is the Allah who laid down the earth.
Glorifies be to Allah, without Him, there is neither supporter nor Shelter .

forgive my sins, and accept my Hajj, and have mercy on me,

and give blessings in my travel, and fulfill my needs in Arafat,
Allah has full power over everything

اًَْومفْغ�م اًبْنَذّو اًَْومَْب�م اًّجَح هْلَُْجا �ممهّٰللَا
ِإَو يِتاَمَمَو َياَيْحَمَو يِکمُمنَو يِتَلَص َکَل �ممهّٰللَايِلاَم َکْيَل

O Allah! Guide me, forgive me, keep me safe in taqwa,
and forgive me in this world and hereafter
O Allah! I seek Your refuge from the torment of the grave
and the whispers of the heart and the worries of affairs
O Allah! Guide us with guidance and equip us with piety
and forgive us in this world and the hereafter
O Allah! I ask You for lawful, pure and blessed sustenance
O Allah! You have commanded me to pray, and it is in Your power to accept,
and You do not go against the promise
O Allah! So whatever goodness you consider good,
make it dear to us and make it easy for us.
And the evil that You consider abominable, so make it abominable for us.
And keep us away from it, and do not take away Islam from us after You have guided us

َِْه�دلا ِقِئاَوَب ََِّشَو محاَيَِّلا �بِهمت اَم ََِّشَو

�بََ َل اَنْمَحََْتَو اَنَل َِْفْغَت ْمَل ْنِاَو اَنَُمفْنَا اَنْمَلَظ اَن َنْيَُِِاَخْلا َنِم �نَنْومکَن
َقَتَو اَن�بََ ْیِتَيَِّمذ ْنِمَو َِو
ٰ
ل�صلا َمْيِقمم ْیِنْلَُْجا ِّبََ �یَدِلاَوِلَو ْیِل َِْفْغا اَن�بََ یِئآَعمد ْ �ب
مباَُِحْلا ممْومقَي َمْوَي َنْيِنِمْؤممْلِلَو. ِّبََ �بََ اَمَک اَممهْمَحَْااًَْيِغَص ْیِناَي
َمْيِْلّاِب اَنْومقَبَُ َنْيِذ�لا اَنِناَوْخَِلَّو اَنَل َِْفْغا اَن�بََ َنْيِذ�لّ
ِل ًّلِغ اَنِبْوملمق یِف ْ َُْجَت َلَّو ِنا ٰا اْومنَم
ممْيِح�َلا ٌ ُمؤََ َک�نِا اَن�بََ

There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise.
He gives life and death, and He has power over all things
O Allah! Fill my chest and ears and eyes and heart with light
O Allah! Open my chest and ease my affairs,
And I seek refuge in you from the whispers of the chest and from the evil of deeds
and from the torment of the grave
O Allah! I seek Your refuge from the evil of that which enters in the night, and from the
evil of that which enters in the day, And from the evil of that which is blown away
by the winds, and from the evil of the events of time
O Allah! Grant us goodness in this world and the Hereafter
and save us from the punishment of the Fire
O Allah! I want from you the good that your Prophet, may God bless him and grant him
peace, asked of you. And I seek your refuge from the evil of that thing from which
your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sought refuge
O our Lord! If we have wronged our souls, then He will not forgive us,
and He will not have mercy on us. So, we will be the losers
O my Lord! Make me and my children steadfast in prayer,
O my Lord! And accept my prayer,
O my Lord! Forgive me and (forgive) my parents
and all other believers on the Day of Reckoning
O my Lord! Have mercy on them both as they brought me up
(with mercy and compassion) in my childhood
O our Lord! Forgive us and our brothers who have gone before us in faith.
And do not hold grudge in our hearts towards the believers

همفْنَأ َکَل َمِغَََو همدََُج َکَل َ ِحَنَو
�َ اًفْومؤََ يِل ْنمکَو اًيِقَش َکِئاَعمدِب يِنْلَُْجَت َلّ �ممهّٰللَا ََْيَخ اَيَو َنْيِلْومئَُْمْلا ََْيَخ اَي ،اًمْيِح ممْلا،َنْيِطُْ
َنْيِمِحا�َلا َمَحََْأ اَي . مدْمَحْلاَو ِﷲ َنْيِمٰا َنْيِمَلاَُْلا ِّبََ
ْضَت َلَّو ،ِئاَع�دلا يِف َنْيِّحِلممْلا محاَحْلِإ هممَِْبمي �لّ ْنَم اَي ،َنْيِلِئا�ُلا مةَلَأَُْم همَِج
َکِتاَجاَنمم ََ�ذَلَو َکِتََِفْغَم َََوَلَحَو َکِوْفَع َدََْب اَنْقِذَأ َکِتَمْحَََو
َََُْخَأ يُِْفَن ممِئَلّ يِّنِإَف هَُْفَن َکْيَلِإ َحَد�م ْنَم يِه
ٰ
لِإ يِناَُِل يِصاََُمْلا ِت
ِ َمَْلْا یَوُِ ٌ عْيِفَش َلَّو ٍ َمَع ْنِم ٌ ةَلْيَُِو يِل اَمَف
There is non worthy of worship besides Allah, He is all by Himself, he has no partner, His is the Kingdom, for Him is all praise, He has power over everything.
O our Lord! Indeed, He is the Merciful and the Merciful. O our Lord! Research is listening
and knowing. And accept our repentance, verily You are Oft-Repentant and Most Merciful.
The power to do good and avoid sin is only possible with the help of Allah.
Which is high glory and majesty
O Allah! Indeed, He knows and sees my abode, and hears my speech
And knowest my appearance and my inwardness,
and nothing of my works is hidden from you.
And I am a pauper, crying out in poverty,
Confessing and confessing my sins, I ask you like a poor beggar,
And like a lowly sinner I cry before you,
And like a fearing blind man I pray to Thee, whose neck is bowed to Thee,
And the eyes shed tears, and whose body (remembering You) has become emaciated,
and whose nose has become dusty for You.

O Allah! Do not deprive me of supplication before you, and be merciful to me,
O rewarder of the most demanding, O Most Bountiful, O Most Merciful,
All praises are for Allah, the Sustainer of all the worlds
Accept, O He who does not annoy him, the insistence of those who insist in prayer,
nor does he bother him. Question of the questioners
(O Allah!) Let us taste the coolness of Your forgiveness and the pleasure of Your
forgiveness and humble supplication in Your presence and the taste of Your mercy.
Allah! He who praises his own self in Your presence (let him do so),
I am surely the one to blame my own self.
Though sins have made my tongue dumb,
So, I have no means of action and no intercessor,
except the hope of Your mercy.

O Allah! You listen me, and where I am and in which situation I am,
you know my outside and inside, Nothing of mine is hidden from you,
I am miserable, I am needy, I am plaintiff, I am shielding seeker,
I am afraid, I am harassed, I am confessional of my sins,
I ask you like a humble and almsman, I rattle like a sinner,
and rattle like a disgraced and wretched, and I ask you like a servant,
who is as afraid as a wretched, and ask like a person
whose neck is sagged to you, and weeping,
and humbled with soul and body, and I am rubbing my nose.
O Allah! Don`t fail me and don`t make me loser,
and be merciful, and kind for me.
You are far better then those from whom the baggers beg,
and those who give to the baggers.

just before leaving for Mina,is compulsory and regarded as a Sunnah.

Pass quickly through the Valley of Muhssir
(the place of torment of Abrahah) reciting this prayer
O Allah! I returned to you and feared your punishment.
And turned to You and feared; accept my worship.
And increase my reward, and have mercy on my humility,
and accept my repentance. And answer my prayer.

But when you depart from Arafaat, remember Allah at al-Mashar al-Haram.
And remember Him, as He has guided you, for indeed,
you were before that among those astray
O Allah!I ask You to gift me the sum of all the virtues at this holy place
and remove all the evils from me. No doubt, no one else can do this
and neither can anyone forgive except You
O Allah!Deliver our Darood-o-Salam to soul
of Muhammad (SAW)
O Sahib-e-Jalal-o-Ikram! enter us into the

and if you make it the last pilgrimage then grant us paradise,
we are those who return, who repent, who worship, and those who praise You,
we are seeking Your mercy
Allah fulfilled His promise, He helped His servant (Prophet Muhammad).
And they defeated the (anti-Islamic) powers alone. The power to do good and
the ability to avoid sins is only with the help of Allah, the Exalted, the Exalted

And remember Allah Almighty in a few days of these counting
(Days of Tashreeq).
There is no sin on him who hastens for two days.
And there is no sin on him who remains behind, that is for the pious.
And fear Allah Almighty and know that to Him you will all be gathered
(Surah Baqarah, Ayah 203)
Returning from Mina to Makkah during the days of Tashreeq,
whether on the 12
th
of Dhul-Hijjah or the 13
th
of Dhul-Hijjah,
There is nothing wrong with either case,
the real importance is not how long you stay,
Rather, it is about how your relationship with God
was during the days you stayed
If the Pilgrims make stay in Mina up till 13
th
Dhul Hijjah morning,
they are then required to perform Rami at any time except Zawal,
between early morning and sunset as per the sequence
and laws of 11
th
and 12
th
Dhul Hijjah.
The window ends immediately at sunset.
A penalty will be due if Rami hasn’t been performed by this point

ْنمد�ل ْنِم اَنَل ْبهَو اَنَتيَده ْذِا َدَُْب اَنَبْوملمق ْغِزمت َلّ اَن�بََ ًةَمْحََ َکج مباهَوْلا َتْنَا ًک�نِا( ،ناَمع آ3 :8)
َنيِمِلّٰظلا َنِم متْنمک ْیِّنِا َکَنٰحْبمُ َتْنَا �لآِا ه
ٰ
لِا َلآ( ،ءايبنلّا21 :87)
O Allah! give us in this world what is good and in the next what is good, and protect us from the punishment of Hell-fire
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. And our Lord, lay not upon us a burden like that
which you laid upon those before us. And our Lord, burned us not with that which we have no ability to bear.
And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower
There is none worthy of Worship besides You, You are far exalted and above all weaknesses,
Surely, I’ am from among the wrongdoers

َنيِمِحَّٰلا مَيَخ َتْنَاَو اَنْمَحَْاَو اَنَلَِْفْغاَف ا�نَمٰا آَن�بََ) ،نونمؤملا23 :109)
اَن�بََاَنْلَُْجاَو ِنيَمِلُْمم َکَل ْنِمَوآَنِتيَِّمذ ًة�مما ًةَمِلُْ�م َکَل ََِاَواَناَنَکُِاَنَم ْبمتَواَنيَلَعج َک�نِا َتْنَا مبا�و�تلا مميِح�َلا)،ََقبلا2:128)
Our Lord!we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us,
we will surely be among the losers
Qura`nic Supplications
My Lord! make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication
Our Lord! forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established
Our Lord! we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful
Our Lord! and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You.
And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful

O Allah! Shower upon us patience and let death take us while we are Muslims

ِل ْ َُْج( ،ءاَُلْا17 :80)
اًدَشََ اَنَِْمَا ْنِم اَنَل ْئيَه�و ًةَمْحََ َکْنمد�ل ْنِم اَنِتٰا آَن�بََ( ،ُهکلا18 :10)
ُﷲ مََبْکَا ُﷲ �لِّا ه
ٰ
لِا َلّ ،مََبْکَا ُﷲ َو ُﷲ مََبْکَا، ُﷲ َو ،مََبْکَا ِﷲ مدْمَحْلا
My Lord! cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from
Yourself a supporting authority
Our Lord! grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance

O Allah!grant faith and security to the Saudis and Pakistanis, grant them good fortune and wealth of peace.
Oh Allah! protect the souls of the Muslims,
O Allah! protect Muslims from terrorism and sectarianism. Oh God! O God of majesty and pride,
O Allah! keep this country inhabited in the name of Islam,
O Allah! protect the Islamic identity of this country.
O Allah! protect Pakistan and Saudi Arabia from the evil of the wicked,
protect from the plots of evil characters, protect them from those who attack day or night,
O Allah! protect us from the envy of the envious,
O Allah!protect us from the attacks of the enemies, O Lord of the two worlds.
O our Lord! grant us good in this world, and grant us good in the Hereafter,
and save us from the punishment of the grave.
O Allah! accept our supplications, surely You are the Hearer and the Seer,
and accept our repentance, for You are the Forgiving and the Merciful.

Hajj is well-known months,so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of Ihram],
there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj.
And whatever good you do -Allāh knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allāh.
