Search for "cmd" in the Windows Start menu
Select "Run as administrator" to open it with elevated privileges
In the the window, type “diskpart” and press "Enter." This command will open the Diskpart tool
Type “list disk” and press "Enter." Diskpart will display all connected disks, including your external hard drive
Identify your external drive based on its size.
Type “select disk X” (replace "X" with the number corresponding to your external drive) and press "Enter." This command selects the external drive for partition recovery
Type “list volume” and press "Enter." This command will list all partitions on the selected disk, including those that may have lost their drive letters.
Identify the lost partition, then type “select volume Y” (replace "Y" with the number corresponding to the lost partition) and press "Enter."
Type “assign letter=Z” (replace "Z" with your preferred drive letter) and press "Enter." This command will assign a new drive letter to the lost partition, making it accessible in Windows Explorer.
And that’s it! Type “exit” and press "Enter" to close Diskpart
