HOW TO REMOVE LINKEY
FROM YOUR PC
By Error Tools
WHAT IS LINKEY?
Linkey, commonly distributed through other free downloaded software, is a
program that hijacks your browser after being installed. After installation, you’ll
find an added extension, a modified browser homepage (usually leading to
linkeyproject.com/app/) and your default search engine changed to
search.yahoo.com.
WHAT IS LINKEY?
Linkey is not flagged as a virus, but antimalware software has picked up the
extension due to its malicious attributes. It has been reported that Linkey might
install rootkits onto your device, hijack your browser, and meddle with user
interface/experience. Instead of terming Linkey a virus, the software industry
calls it a potentially unwanted program, otherwise dubbed PUP.
WHAT IS LINKEY?
If you’re accustomed to downloading freeware (such as those programs that
allow you to download free videos, record etc), anything that offers a
bundled package, you might encounter Linkey as an addition to the bunch.
In most cases, you’ll have no idea where Linkey came from, but only notice
changes on your computer, especially when browsing.
LINKEY ALIASES OR ALTERNATIVE
NAMES
Some antimalware programs have detected different names or aliases under
which Linkey operates when installed on your personal computer.
•Adware.Win32.SearchSuite.BQ
•Win32.Application.AztecSystemK
•PUP.Optional.Linkey.A
•Win32.Application.AztecSystemK.A

can choose your antimalware of choice, or use Safebytes Antimalware which
is highlight recommended
