How to Set Maximum Difference in Odoo 17 POS

In this slide we’ll discuss the ‘Set Maximum Difference’ feature in Odoo 17 POS. This helps to manage cash handling accuracy. It allows to define an acceptable tolerance level for the discrepancy between the calculated cash balance and the actual cash in the drawer at the end of a shift.

2. Introduction Enterpr ise In this slide we’ll discuss the ‘Set Maximum Difference’ feature in Odoo 17 POS. This helps to manage cash handling accuracy. It allows to define an acceptable tolerance level for the discrepancy between the calculated cash balance and the actual cash in the drawer at the end of a shift.

3. Enterprise Let’s go to the Configuration-> Settings of the POS module to enable the set maximum difference option.

4. Enterprise We can enable Set Maximum Difference and also we can add the authorized difference amount.

5. Enterprise We can open the session from dashboard with Set Maximum Difference enabled. Before opening session, we can set the opening cash amount and then open the session.

6. Enterprise Create an order and make payment and then validate

7. Enterprise After Validating the order, we can close the session.

8. Enterprise In the window opened, we can set the counted cash. Based on this counted cash, we can see the Difference amount. Opening cash and payment in cash details are also shown here.

9. Enterprise I f a difference is recorded when closing a session, and you have administrative permissions, it must be recorded in a journal before the session can be closed.

10. Enterprise Once the session has been closed, it can be viewed by moving to Orders->Session. Choose the session you want to view.
