What to create
If you are a business, you need a way to showcase or represent your
business alongside your product or service.
You will do that with a business name, a logo, a slogan, and two old-
fashioned newspaper advertisements.

Choose a memorable name for your business/company that reflects its
purpose and identity.
Select a name that’s clear, unique, and impactful for your business.
Try to make it creative and memorable.

Logo
Design a logo that represents your company and it’s purpose.
Think of logos like the Nike Swoosh, Ford Logo, or Apple computer
logo. Why did these companies choose these kinds of logos? How do
they represent their businesses most effectively?
Design it carefully because it will appear on your company’s literature
moving forward.

Slogan
Think about popular business slogans used by companies today. For
example, Nike uses the slogan “Just Do It”. Volkswagon’s is “Drivers
Wanted”.
A slogan is a catchy phrase used by a company to help consumers or
customers remember their business. The shorter the slogan is, the better,
because it will be easier to remember. Write a short slogan for your
company that will be used to represent and advertise your business. It
should be no more than six or seven words.

Newspaper Advertisement
Design two (2) print advertisements, one (1) full-page advertisement and one (1) quarter-page
advertisement for newspapers. In a separate document (advertisement_explainer), write a
paragraph explaining which newspapers you’ll be submitting advertisements to and why you
chose that paper, and where in the paper you’d like the advertisement to appear. The
advertisements must include (in any order):

2.Location (e.g. the school)
3.Contact information (school phone number, school email, or perhaps your business website)
4.Purpose
5.“Sale” Information
6.Products/Services
NO PERSONAL INFORMATION.
NO REAL PHONE NUMBERS OR ADDRESSES.

homework folder in Google Drive
•The two (2) old-fashioned newspaper advertisement must
be in .jpg, .png, or .pdf format. You may make physical
version, scan it, and upload it.
•The files must be named “advertisement_big” and
“advertisement_small”.
•The explainer document must be named
“advertisement_explainer”
•The logo must be in .jpg, .png, or .pdf format. The name of
the file must be “Logo”.

•Your business document must include the name of your
business, your slogan, and your business logo.
•Make a new document inside your homework folder.
Name it “The Business”.
•More things will be added to this document in the future.
