Industry Risk Analysis
Running head: INDUSTRY AND RISK ANALYSIS
Assessment 2
Industry and Risk Analysis
Entrepreneurship and Innovation (BUS 521)
Name
Strayer University
Dr. William Walker
Date
Abstract
This particular assessment will address the industry and the risk analysis. Topics that will be covered
are the future outlook and industry trends related to the new venture. The research paper also identifies
certain legal regulations and concerns related to the venture idea. There are certain resources available
to help an entrepreneur protect those ideas which are addressed within the body of the paper. Raising
capital for the new venture is also a part of the industry analysis as well as the obstacles of raising that
capital. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knowledge is power; therefore the company will need to know about major rules and regulations that
can harm the venture in the long run. The main concern with the venture idea is the chance of
someone else attempting to steal the idea and use it to profit. According to the World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO) (n.d.), intellectual property refers to creations of the mind: inventions,
literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce (para. 1).
Intellectual property is protected by patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets (Hisrich et al.,
2010). All of these categories can help an original creator maintain the rights to that piece of work. If
the creator does not go through the proper steps to maintain the ownership of a particular work, the
idea is up for grabs and someone can else use the idea all over again. Healthy Hearts Gym will have to
be careful with exactly who secretive information is shared with. The ideas that will make the gym
different from others will definitely be protected by one or more of the previously discussed
categories. This will allow the company to maintain ownership of original ideas, and sue anyone who
tries to steal that idea. 3. Discuss the approach to raising capital for the venture. According to
Entrepreneur (2010a) it takes anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 to start

According to Adrian Palmer (2009), the nature and measurements of these five forces could be
concluding as the following:
The bargaining power of customer is likely to be high if there are few buyers chasing too many goods,
if the buyer purchases in bulk quantities, if the product is not differentiated, if buyer incur low
switching cost and if buyers are price sensitive etc.
The bargaining power of suppliers is likely to be high when: suppliers are concentrated and well
organized; the number of suppliers is small or their services are in short supply; you bearing a high
switching cost and you are not an important customer to supplier etc.
The intensity of existing competitive rivalry is likely to be high if there are number of small or equal
competitors, if customers have low switching costs and if industry is growing etc.
The threat of new entrants is likely to be high if capital requirements to start the business are less, if
few economies of scale are in place, if customers can easily switch, if your technology is not hard to
acquire and if your product is not differentiated etc.
The Threat of substitute products is likely to be high when: there are many substitute products
available; the quality of competitors product is better etc.

Of Mice And Men Companionship Essay
Trekking through California in the 1930, George and Lennie desire a stable work place and
companionship. These characters from John Steinbeck s American novel Of Mice and Men, make up
one of the few friendships in the theme of loneliness. The two go through life accompanying each
other and experiencing the harsh realities of life. Eventually they end up on a farm with a dynamic
group of farm hands they are not used to. With George and Lennie, and Candy and his dog the reader
sees companionship as a vital part of life that all characters seek. Throughout Of Mice and Men the
reader rarely sees George without Lennie or Lennie without George. They differ from the rest of the
people on the farm for they have each other, because I got you ... Show more content on

This relationship is one that has survived the test of time. Candy compares most with George, and
Lennie with Candy s dog. This mirroring keeps constant the strong ideal of companionship being a
large theme of the novel. Candy s only friend on the farm is his dog, but at time of the novel his dog
remains useless and in pain, and I had him so long. Had him since he was a pup. I herded sheep with
him (44). Most of Candy s life involves companion of his dog and would be lost without him. Carlson
suggests that it might help to shoot the dog so that he would be out misery, That dog of Candy s is so
God damn old he can t hardly walk (36). This is a difficult decision for Candy since him and his dog
are companions and help prevent the other from being lonely. Eventually Slim convinces Candy that it
will be okay for Carlson to shoot the dog, and so Carlson does. After this action, Candy feels empty, as
well as, regret wishing he shot his dog himself, I oughtta of shot that dog myself, George. I shouldn t
oughtta of let no stranger shoot my dog (Page 61). Even though this was a tough decision, it would
have been easier to let go had Candy done the deed

Causes and Treatments of Peptic Ulcer Disease
A peptic ulcer can be defined as an excavation that forms in the mucosal wall of the stomach, in the
pylorus, in the duodenum, or in the esophagus (Brunner, Suddarth and Smeltzer, 2008). According to
Fromm, (2009) Helobactor pylori is a gram negative bacteria that is the cause of most peptic ulcer
disease and is considered a primary risk factor in the development of gastic cancer (pg. 394). Other
causes include stress, and excessive secrtion of Hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Transmission of H.
pylori according to Gurney, Carvalho, Gonzalez, Galaviz Sonstein (2014) states there is strong
research supporting that H. pylori can be spread person to person through direct contact with saliva,
vomit, or fecal matter (pg. 393). H. Pylori is more prevalent in crowded areas without reliable access
to clean water. Other risk factors include poor hygiene, smoking, and close living conditions with
someone who is infected with H. pylori. Symptoms of an ulcer include a burning sensation in the
stomach and esophagus, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation and bleeding. Treatment of Peptic Ulcer
Disease includes antibiotics to eradicate H. pylori bacteria; proton pump inhibitors are used to treat
NSAID induced ulcers and other ulcers not associated with the bacterial infection, smoking cessation
and dietary modifications. Surgical management is recommended for ulcers that fail to heal after 12 16
months of treatments and the procedures include pyloroplasy, anrectomy or vagotomy.

The Scaled Equation Of State
The scaled equation of state is (2.66)
Coordinate transformation
In rare case may be done a numerical solution in a Cartesian coordinate system.
For numerical simulations is used usually a curve coordinate system. In order to prevent of geometric
errors in solutions in finite volume methods, is necessary to the precise determinationof Surface
vector. As an example of an airfoilwhich can be describedwith difficulty the curve of airfoil by
Cartesian grid point and points lie within the airfoil. Figure 1.2) grid system
Therefore it is better to select a curve coordinate system. As is shown in figure1 2.
Due to this coordinate transformation increase indeed complexity of equation with respect to Cartesian
form but has many advantageous like improvement of efficient and accuracy in numerical method.
In the transformation from the physical domain to the computational domain, a one to
onetransformation is assumed. That is, a point in thephysical domain, say point A, corresponds to
oneand only one point in the computational domain, point B, and vice versa. Figure 2.2) Grid
configuration in physical domain (left) and computational domain (right)
Due to the transformation the transition from a curvilinear non orthogonal physical domain is carried
out on an orthogonal computational domain (Figure2 2).
Almost infinitely complex body boundaries in physical space are converted to rectangular plane in the
computational space.

they call Oh My God Hot Springs. While I was hitchhiking into town for food and water, I met Ronald

The Boy Scout Law And ACM Code Of Ethics
Many companies and professional societies adopt or create their own codes of ethics for their
employees and members to adhere to. These guiding principles construct the foundations of individual
codes of ethics that engineers, employees, and members of these groups then follow during their lives.
As engineers and citizens of a global society we do not solely rely upon adopted codes of ethics to
guide us when it comes to making decisions in scenarios that challenge our judgement of right and
wrong. A personal code of ethics is constructed by individuals and is unique to every person based
upon the living conditions they grew up in.
My ethical codes foundations lie in the Boy Scout Law which has played a significant role in the way
I have lived my life to this day, as well as the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) code of
Ethics and Professional Conduct because of my title as a computer scientist . While the Boy Scout
Law and ACM code of Ethics and Professional Conduct are both well acknowledged universal
standards within their own perspective fields, my personal code of ethics has also been influenced by
my family, friends, as well as the way in which information has been presented to me. People are a
product of their own environment and the places which we have grown up provide us with our first
impressions of what is morally right or wrong. Learning in an environment like the one at UCSB has
also shifted my own ideas of what is right or wrong, and taking course like

Hybrid Vehicles and Their Effect on the Environment Essay
Today, people use their own personal vehicles to travel more than ever before. Personal transportation
is no longer considered a luxury; it is now considered a necessity. The number of cars in the United
States has been growing steadily since the 1970s. The number of miles traveled by cars has risen
nearly 150 percent, yet the United States population has only grown roughly 40 percent during that
time (hybridcars.com, Driving Trends). Although it may seem like we are advancing into the future, in
reality, we are moving backwards from the effects these vehicles have on our bodies and the
environment. The pollution produced by these vehicles has brought us to the day where we must find
other modes of transportation that cause less ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, there are still other pollutants that have a greater effect on people and the
environment.
Carbon Monoxide Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas that affects the flow of
oxygen to one s brain and other parts of the body. This gas merges with the hemoglobin in a person s
blood, which then weakens the flow of oxygen in the body (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). The effects
are severe and in some cases deadly towards smokers and people with heart disease (Larminie 246).
This toxin can permanently alter the central nervous system throughout the body (hybridcars.com,
Pollutants). Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are not the only pollutants that come from vehicles.
Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxides Sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides both have great effect on the lungs.
Sulphur oxides cause respiratory illnesses, mostly in children, the elderly, and people who already
have heart and lung diseases (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). Nitrogen oxide causes the lungs to be
irritated and increase the chances of infection. Nitrogen oxide can also react with other surrounding
agents to cause ground level ozone, or smog. The creation of the ozone then irritates the eyes,
damages the lungs and causes respiratory problems (Larminie 246).

Conflict at Walt Disney- Case Study
Conflict at Walt Disney

Conflict at Walt Disney Within every organization there is some type of conflict, whether the conflict
is personal, organizational or emotional. But the key is to manage the conflict so as to not hinder the
profitability, functionality or public image of the company so that it is viable competitively. In the case
of the Walt Disney Company, although the company had conflict within the organization, this did not
hinder its competitiveness. The company still was able to compete, even with the public knowledge of
its conflict with the company s owner Michael Eisner. What is important to understand about conflict

Conflict Resolution Managing conflict for organizations is very important in maintaining business
relationships, especially ones that are profitable like that of Disney Pixar. At the helm of the Walt
Disney Company during the begging and end of these feuds was Michael Eisner and Bob Iger. Even
though Michael Eisner is the one responsible for the conflict with Disney and Pixar, he should be
equally responsible for trying to fix the damaged relationship. When trying to manage conflict there
are several approaches that can be taken to resolve the conflict at hand: dominating, accommodating,
problem solving, avoiding and compromising. Eisner s Style. Michael s style of conflict resolution can
be described as dominating. The dominating approach to conflict resolution involves using its power
over the individual to force them into a resolution that is only beneficial to their interests. Being that
Eisner has held some sort of power over the parties involved, such as controlling budgets of the
involved parties or having a hierarchical position within the company, such as the CEO, he uses this
type of approach to solve resolutions. Iger s Style. Bog Iger s conflict resolutions style can be
described as problem solving. Problem solving involves resolving

Babe Ruth s Accomplishments
I ve heard people say that the trouble with the world is that we haven t enough great leaders. I think
we haven t enough great followers. I have stood side by side with great thinkers surgeons, engineers,
economists, men who deserve a great following and have heard the crowd cheer me instead. I love my
profession. I like playing baseball. I love the fans too, but I think they cheered too loudly, and they
cheered for the wrong man. This was quoted by Babe Ruth explaining why he isn t selfish and why he

The Comprehensive Security Policy In The Trojan War
Comprehensive Security Policy
Introduction
A company that experiences a social engineering attack to create or reevaluate its security plan in
respect to its email, acceptable use, physical security and incident response plan. Social engineering
attacks have been around forever across many different cultures and platforms. The first major social
engineering attack happened during the mythological Trojan War. The Greek after a ten year
unsuccessful siege of Troy appeared to leave, and leave behind a huge wooden statue of a horse as a
parting gift. The Trojans wheeled in the horse through the gates and proceeded to celebrate their
victory not aware that the horse contained Greek soldiers. The soldiers late at night crept out of the ...

The Need for Reform in Collegiate Sports Essay
The Need for Reform in Collegiate Sports
The current institutional structure of intercollegiate athletics is attempting to maximize educational
quality and athletic excellence simultaneously. Each of which will inevitably impinge on one another.
Universities claim that their athletes are amateurs who are attending college for academic achievement
and play sports in their free time.
This is an impossible task for anybody. Higher education has entered the arena of big business with its
athletic programs and with it many problems have emerged for coaches, athletes, and the athletic
system itself. There is systematic corruption. Exploitation and hypocrisy are givens in college
athletics. Athletic personnel are mistakenly given the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It should be noted that the graduation rate for athletes across the nation is not promising. Scholarships
become worthless promises if they do not result in a certificate. According to Louis Barbash, a
television producer, 3 out of 10 basketball players graduate, while 4 out of 10 football players
graduate. Many athletes emerge from college illiterate, without a degree, and without a professional
athletic career. The system is cheating these individuals. It is a known fact that 44% of all African
Americans in collegiate sports expect to play professionally. A college athlete has a better chance of
becoming an astronaut than they do playing professionally. One athlete out of 10,000 will ever play
professionally.
Athletes are dominated, managed and controlled. They do not receive an education or wage
commensurate with their contribution to economic returns. They are making millions for universities
while receiving nothing. Louis Barbash, a writer and producer, feels that the NCAA has failed athletes
terribly. They have two options: to professionalize sports or to meet the Ivy League ideal (equal
standards and expectations for athletes and nonathletes). If they choose to professionalize college
sports, then each team acts as a minor league. The average salary has been proposed around 17,000
dollars. Athletes can also take classes if they want with no specific time limit for completion. This act
would have to be implemented by NCAA or legislation.

Spoon River Poetry Analysis
The 1915 poetry collection, Spoon River Anthology, by Edgar Lee Masters, offers a portrait of daily
life in a fictional Illinois town, Spoon River. As is evident from the poems Spoon River was an
economic boom town which profited greatly from its proximity to rail roads and a major waterway.
Regardless of its prosperity, Spoon River seems to have remained a demographically small town, and
the neighbors all knew each other very well, and a clear social hierarchy formed. One of the more
interesting aspects of the Spoon River Anthology is that the poems contained therein are a series of
grave epitaphs that tell a story about each deceased resident. Often, graveyards themselves can serve
as reminders of social hierarchies in the world of the living. Typically, only those decedents who had
family members and a community who cared for them would be laid to rest in the community grave;
the potter s field and the crematorium awaited those who passed away without family, in debt, or with
a criminal record. Thus, the initial assessment of the deceased within the Spoon River graveyard
would be that they were
good people in their lives.
Indeed, many of the epitaphs depict the decedents as moral, hardworking, and decent people.
However, when cross referencing the epitaphs from each citizen, it becomes clear that the prominent
members of Spoon River were incredibly corrupt in their day to day behavior. Ultimately, Masters

Examples Of Hedonic Pricing Models
Hedonic pricing models are tools used for estimating the value of a good or commodity based on the
premise that price is determined by the both the characteristics of the good being sold and any external
factors effecting it. Since the hedonic model calculates the value of a commodity by summing the
estimated values of its individual characteristics, it is best suited for use with commodities that are
extremely heterogeneous. One example of an extremely heterogeneous commodity that is well suited
to estimation using hedonic pricing models is the real estate market.
When we read about the sale of property in the US Real Estate market, for example that a home in
your neighborhood sold for $500,000, we gain limited information about the value of other properties
in the same area. This information is of limited use because every home is heterogeneous; the homes
are of different age, have different numbers of bedroom or bathrooms, or are located closer to public
services. By collecting sufficient samples, a hedonic model will allow us to turn these ... Show more

The purpose of this new model will be to more accurately determine which characteristic of a home
effect the sale price in Springfield so an accurate listing price can be estimated. Failure to generate an
appropriate listing price on the part of a real estate agency can lead to many negative effects. A house
that is priced too highly may not sell, while one that is priced too cheaply may sell quickly, but cause
the seller to take a loss and provide lower commissions. As a result, the considered model must be
able to consistently predict accurate list prices. To ensure the model is consistent technical issues such
as non linearity, heteroskedasticity, and multicollinearity must be considered so that the assumptions
of a multiple linear regression model are not

not miss a moment in this movie because it would be amazing and it was. Every single minute was
worth it. I must say it is highly entertaining which distracts the audience from thinking about wanting
more background from the characters but not bad as a romance drama musical movie. Like I said

Smackover Formation
A petroleum system is a system that includes a pod of some active source rock with their very nature
genetically related to build up and accumulation of oil and gas. Petroleum system includes geological
elements, as well as the processes, which are crucial and essential for the existence of oil and gas
accumulation. Petroleum is a compound that is made up of high concentrations of biological and
thermal hydrocarbon gaseous components that are contained in conventional reservoirs, tight
reservoirs, fractured shale, gas hydrates, as well as coal. It also includes high concentrations of
condensates, crude oils, and natural bitumen in the reservoirs, and generally in carbonate and
siliciclastic rocks. In this view, we may describe a system as an interdependence of elements as well as
processes, which form the very functional unit that gives rise to the hydrocarbon accumulations
(Mancini, Parcell, Puckett, Benson, 2003).
Petroleum system processes include source rock, seal rock, reservoir rock as well as overburden rock.

The War On Drugs Should End
The United States absurdly spends billions to concentrate its efforts on the interdiction of substance
use. Law enforcement and labors of exclusion have not been met with reductions in the accessibility
of drugs in America. Aside from being remarkably expensive, drug task agencies have demonstrated
racial discrimination and unequal anguish distressed by minority communities. Ultimately, it costs the
government extreme amounts of taxpayer dollars to maintain this futile war while disregarding the
rights of American citizens.
Minority Target
Since the birth of the United States, people of color have been the object of many societal injustices.
For example, the War on Drugs has produced a staggering number of African American and Latino
arrests and incarceration rates throughout the U.S. Although the levels of drug consumption and
peddling are similar amongst Caucasians, minorities are largely more susceptible to be detained,
prosecuted, and imprisoned for drug law violation. And between federal and state governments, this
discriminatory war costs billions of dollars annually to enforce. The war on drugs should end because
it is awfully biased towards minorities, the epitome of ineffective policy, and unconstitutional.
First, programs such as D.A.R.E. and the Just Say No campaign were launched to bring drug
awareness to children due to the War on Drugs. However, this operation should end because it has
become a war on the people, especially minorities. Major arrest

Summary Of David Von Drehle s Triangle
Triangle, a novel written by David Von Drehle, is about the working conditions that caused the
deadliest workplace disaster in New York history [for ninety years to come] (Drehle 3). It occurred in
the early 1930 s, and about the events that led to protests for better conditions so that the incident that
happened on March 25, 1911, in the Triangle Waist building, would not be replicated. Due to the
inadequate working conditions, some buildings experienced disasters because [The] workplace safety
was scarcely regulated, and workers compensation was considered newfangled or even socialist

designed in such a way that only one employee could pass through at a time. Workers were required to

to the fire being as disastrous as it was. Production workers were also subject to unfair things that the
employers decided to do to the employees. In the Triangle fire, a young man grabbed the [door]knob,

The Various Language Skill Development
Being social animals, human beings experience an innate drive to communicate and share their
thoughts and feelings with others. The essay discusses the various language skill development stages
among the children from zero to seven years. It analyses the importance of nature and nurture with the
aid of behaviourist and nativist perspectives. In the light of the explanations by Vygotsky and Jean
Piaget, the essay attempts to discuss the role of culture, experience, maturation and willingness to
learn. Cambridge dictionary defines language as #39;a system of communication #39; among human
beings. This communication system consists of sounds and words. The element of grammar makes
communication meaningful (Cambridge Dictionary 2016). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Gradually the child imitates the words from its environment. Children are more used to the words, like
mom, milk, dad, no, that are recited to them frequently. At this stage, the child associates these words
to their meanings. After the age of two, there is a tremendous exploration of vocabulary (Clarke,
2009). Children accumulate thousands of words till the age of six. Initially they go for replacement of
difficult terms with simple ones. This is due to their struggle with complex vocabulary. This tendency
changes after six. The conventional word order, tense and grammar are grasped during these ages. By
the age of four, children would be good conversationalist. At this stage the syntactic and semantic
developments occur in children (Choice2099, 2014). Children, in their early years, imitate sounds and
words that are produced by adults. B.F. Skinner employs his theory of behaviourism to explain this
mental process (Nellie, 2013). Skinner argues that language development like any other behaviour or
habit, can be imbibed through repetition and reinforcement. He uses the concepts of classical
conditioning and operant conditioning to explain this phenomenon. Children associates the frequently
used terms with its meanings. The word #39;mom #39; brings the mental image of their mother. They

man to run for the presidency. That is why many people are perplexed that such an astute person
should have one of the most controversial elections and presidencies ever. Considering Hayes
honorable principles, it came as a surprise to see how he could unknowingly make a decision about
reconstruction where its effects were so blatantly derogatory to the cause he was trying to help.
amp;#9;The controversy began when he was merely running for office. Hayes was running against
Democrat Samuel J. Tilden. When the ballots were tallied in 1876, Hayes clearly lost the popular vote,

Animal Sympathy In Animals
Animal sympathy is the ability of animals to form connections and feel the emotions of other
organisms and to sympathize with their owners and their animal counterparts. Animal sympathy is
rarely considered or just investigated among a limited number of species, such as whales. This is
mostly because the human aspect in the relationship between man and animal is usually mentioned by
the written media as it is more likely easier to understand by the targeted audience. However, it is also
important to understand the emotional viewpoint of animals, especially those which are an integral
part to human existence and society, as it can help foster a better understanding in every human being,
regardless of whether or not he or she interacts with animals.
Before the presence of sympathy in animals can be discussed, one should understand the definition of
the concept of sympathy itself. Sympathy is a rather easy concept to act upon but difficult to decipher
accurately. Through sympathy, one might aid a person in distress for no self benefit but purely due to
good nature. According to philosopher Adam Smith in The Theory of Moral Sentiments, every person
on this Earth has the capability to feel or even automatically be affected by a wave of sympathy at
least once in his or her lifetime. As Smith states, How selfish soever man may be supposed, there are
evidently some principles in his nature, which interest him in the fortune of others, and render their
happiness necessary to him,

because many people believe that there are enough churches already in the area and that there is no

Software Engineering Is Like An Art
Software engineering is like an art in that it begins with a problem and ends with the creation of a
solution that solves it (Blum, p.9). Engineers grew out of the ashes of the problems of the world.
Software engineers deal with problems and maintenance in computer software. For a computer to find
a solution to anything, programs have to be designed and written into the computer using models for
the software process. Bernd Bruegge, in his presentation titled, Software Lifecycle Models, states a
software process represents all the phases needed to create a program, from the study of the goals
leading to the objective, to the maintenance of said goals and how the phases relate to one another.
There are many different models used as guidelines to form the software process needed to create a
program, but this paper will prove how the waterfall model performs the software process in the most
reliable and user friendly fashion. The waterfall model will be defined and then compared to the V
model, prototype model, and Boehm s spiral model, with all aspects in relation to software
engineering. M. C. Escher s painting, Waterfall , depicts a waterfall defying reality by creating an
infinite flow of water from a structure that seems to be realistic. Escher s waterfall, on paper, seems to
be flawless but when implied to the real world, the design is impossible. The waterfall model used to
create software processes is flawless if used properly, but if one step is overlooked,

The Values Of National Security And National Security
I believe that in order to protect national security , individuals must sacrifice some personal freedom.
Nowadays you cannot trust anyone, so you have to always be aware of your surroundings. They
restrict their activities, limit their travel, and often distrust their neighbors, thereby weakening
community bonds and support (Payne, p.59). People want to feel that they are secured and will do
anything to get that satisfaction. We all have to make some sacrifices, everyone has different beliefs
and if we were to all act on our beliefs, then we would most likely all be dead, because we might not
agree with what the person next to use is saying. When we book a flight and go through TSA, we are
all giving up a bit of our personal freedom. The TSA agents get to monitor our bags and our whole
bodies are scanned to make sure we are not concealing anything dangerous (Payne, p.59). If TSA did
not have to check everyone, then people would be able to get weapons into a plane and cause another
major attack like 9/11. When you are in the military you see combat. You may have been on missions
that exposed you to horrible and life threatening experiences. These types of events can lead to PTSD
(Class notes, Lecture 2). The soldiers that are protecting and defending national securities, give up
their whole freedom when on duty and even when they come back home. After they have served their
time, their freedom is is still gone, some feel like they are trapped. Most experience PTSD, which

Essay On Port Royal
Introduction
In the Civil War, there were many battles and key points that helped in the victory of the Union. The
Battle of Port Royal was the second battle of the Civil War. The Battle of Port Royal culminated an
amphibious operation designed to establish a United States military depot on the southeastern coast to

This battle lasted for four days from November Third, 1861 to November Seventh, 1861. This battle

Utilitarianism Benefits
Benefits of Utilitarianism According to the utilitarian theory it believes that the impartiality, fairness,
and greater social harmony requires us to balance our interests with those of others. In doing so,
utilitarianism provides an effective antidote for the evils of discrimination based on race, gender,
religion, and other unjust criteria. This means utilitarians try to find a way to make themselves and
others happy. The value of happiness for example, should be distributed to as many people as possible.
Considering this, I agree that using the utilitarianism theory will benefit a society in the distant future.
To begin with, negative consequences may be reached to receive a positive outcome. For instance,
there are five victims tied down to a railroad and there is a runaway trolley cart heading towards the
five victims. If there is a choice to divert that runaway trolley cart to kill that one victim instead of
those five, killing that one victim is considered ethical according to the utilitarian theory. Indeed,
diverting that runaway trolley from attacking those five victims is a better outcome for the society
rather than saving that one sufferer. The reason that is, those five victims are now able to create a
society that is far ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Current Hostilities Between Yemen And Saudi Arabia Today
What are the underlying factors, cultural differences, and outside intervention leading up to the current
hostilities between Yemen and Saudi Arabia today? To answer some of these fundamental questions, I
will use the relevant aspects of the five core ideas about the social conflict which are championed by
Louis Kriesberg and Bruce Dayton s book Constructive Conflicts. Kriesberg and Dayton posit that
that social conflicts are universal, and can be beneficial; social conflicts are waged with varying
destructiveness; social conflicts entail contested social constructions; social conflicts can be
transformed, and that social conflicts are dynamic and tend to move through stages.

The roots of the current conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen stems from
sectarian, social political, and ideological differences which are identified as contested social
constructions in the core ideas. Moreover, these social constructions are moving in stages and are vital
to the accurate assessment as to what has led to the original cause of the conflict. Ideological
differences tainted with sectarianism seem to be one of the driving factors for conflict. The newly
unified Republic of Yemen kept its Ba athist loyalties, and it s somewhat tempered Marxist leanings in
its governance. One of the presumed crucial trigger points for the ongoing conflict between Yemen
and Saudi Arabia is the 1990 Gulf War. On August 2, 1990, the state of Iraq invaded the small state of
Kuwait and claimed it as their 19th province. This is taken, and not without unfounded rationalization,
as only a small stepping stone for Iraq to directly attack the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its
expansive oil fields to the south. Saudi Arabia claimed that Iraq s actions posed a serious threat to its
national security and sovereignty and asked the international community for assistance. The
international community quickly responded with an immediate session of the United Nations Security
