Hydraulic accumulator

A hydraulic accumulator is a device which used as a pressure storage reservoir in which a non compressible hydraulic fluid is occurs under pressure that is applied through any external medium. The external source can be a raised weight, a spring or a compressed gas.

Another type of accumulator is hydro pneumatic accumulator. It is a vessel in which hydraulic circuits capable
of storing a large amount of energy in a small volume. It is a tank divided into two chambers by a flexible
separator. One chamber is for fluid under pressure and another one is nitrogen gas. The different types of
functions are surge control, thermal expansion, leak compensation, energy recovery and restitution and shock
absorbing. It required pressure up to 250 bars. The nominal value in between 0.5 to 4 litres.
For many hydraulic accumulators a membrane have been used as partition between the fluid side and the gas
side of the accumulator. The main advantage of membrane accumulator is that it is completely maintenance
free. It have been produced in large quantities and is well suited for relatively simple hydraulic system. The
