Hydel Power By :- Avilash paul

Content :- Introduction. Definition. Working principle. Types of hydrel power plant. Transmission of power. Advantages. Disadvantages. Conclusion.

Definition :- A form of energy generated by the conversion of moving Water to electricity is known as hydel power .

Working principle:- To generate electricity , kinetic should be converted into mechanical energy then to electrical energy. In other words , kinetic energy of the moving water turn the blades in the turbines (mechanical energy) and the turbine is connected to the generator then electricity generated.

Types of hydel power plant:- Impoundment Diversion Micro hydropower etc.

Transmission of power :-

Hydel power plant in India

Advantages :- No fuel charges. Running cost is almost nil. Highly reliable. Efficiency doesn’t decreases with time. Construction and operation quite simple. Starts quickly and synchronizes fast. Maintainers cost is low.

Disadvantages :- High construction cost. There is limited feasible sites for construction. Dam construction causes loss of land suitable for agriculture. It effects the marine animals. Dam construction prevent the upstream migration of fish.

Conclusion :- Reclamation is helping to meet the needs of our country. most important to meet the growing demands. Water is one of our most valuable resources and hydropower makes use of this renewable treasure. Future energy needs in a manner that protects the environment by improving hydropower projects and operating them more effectively.
