How can use of HYPERTEXT, HYPERMEDIA AND MULTIMEDIA for improving language skills Computer assisted language learning Katherine Feijoo

hypertext Refers to the links, key words that appear with blue type and when these are highlighted by a pointer device, select or clicked it the hypertext show the referent, these links usually separate the screen or replace the first page, or simply appear as mall box above the text. This text contain meaning, structure, and visual display, but do not have the same sequence of the traditional linear organization of books .

EXAMPLE In a web page we study about the grammar structure but we do not know the meaning of some words, so with the hypertext we do a click and appear a smallpox with the meaning of that word.

hypermedia Is the similar links used in hypertext, but instead of text the hypermedia have a lot of medias such as sounds, images, videos, animations, etc.

EXAMPLE In grammar we have a word with the example with a link and that link show us the sound pronunciation, or the animation that explain the action of the sentence.

MULTIMEDIA The multimedia can be text, images, animations, sounds, and videos. It also refers to content that uses a combination of different  content forms. Multimedia includes a combination of  text, audio, images, animations, video, or interactivity content forms.

Example When you want to watch something about grammar you would link the video.
